There are a lot of folk that don't know how to create a fan page for their business or hobby. It's very simple, however, I see many Facebook users who create a page and use the same name as another page that have already been created. It's ok to do that, but in my honest opinion, it doesn't make you stand out as a marketer or business person.

If you're trying to create a fan page and is not sure on what to name it or is wondering if someone else has the name, what I will suggest you do is browse through all the fan pages on Facebook.

As you can see, there are 8 categories. Choose which one is relevent to your niche and just look at the names of the different pages. If you find one that has the name you are thinking of, then try to rephrase yours in a way that is more creative and catchy.

You will also realize all the pages you are invited to by other Facebook members. Actually, I didn't know I had that many page invites. I'm sure you probably didn't either.

Note: This page is also a good way to find different pages that might interest you. You might want to join a few if you are new to Facebook, so that you can network on them.

Excellent starters that are newer to facebook. I think lots of people have accounts or have visited facebook, but truely don't know how to set up properly. Adding a facebook page was very well explained.

You are welcome:-) Creating fan pages does give "us" a chance to be a less dependale on Google. Yes, you can create a seperate fan page from your family page, all you have to do is follow the same steps, go to your private settings and specify your age restrictions to 13+, that way anyone can view yoour fan page. If you still need help on fan page for business, I have a training guide specifically for getting organic fans and showing you how to make your fan page sociable.

It looks like there is a huge opportunity for those advertising on Fan Pages. It also would be a way to depend on Google a little less maybe. However, I am confused about the rules of using these pages. I already have a personal Facebook page setup for family. Can I make a Fan Page for business and keep the two pages separated? I have read Facebook allows only one profile or timeline as they call it. How would I setup a Fan Page in this case?
