Hello Fellow Members,
I’m always researching and learning new things as I continue to improve my website. Sometimes I may get different answers or opinions to my questions. One of those questions is whether to have a static page or a rolling blog as your landing page?
Some have explained to me that it's not good to have your landing page be a rolling blog because Google can't index the posts page. Yet others have explained that rolling blogs (posts) rank quicker than it takes pages to rank.
Regardless of whether or not the rolling blogs rank quicker, search engines will be able to find your rolling blog no matter where it is on your website; rolling blog or a navigation page.
My take away from the different opinions and research I have come across is that there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to the question. My opinion is that what type of landing page you decide to use will depend on the type of business you have.
Maybe if your business is a brand, selling products or a non-profit organization it may be better to use a static page landing page. But, if your business is a Blog, you would want your landing page to be a rolling blog.
My recommendation would be to make a decision that you feel is best for your website.
So, let's get on with the show to learn how to change the type of landing page you use.
Step 1: First this is to make that decision about which type of landing page works best for your website business.
