a theme is not "an alternative to" Wordpress, Mike.
a theme is a theme.
you have a theme on your wordpress website. you still are using wordpress.

Sam's site is STILL a wordpress website.
your site will still be a wordpress website whatever theme you are using.
if it were not wordpress, it wouldn't be able to be hosted at WA, because WA only hosts Wordpress websites
Sam has given many many many incorrect pieces of information in this video, aimed solely at getting people to buy thrive themes through his link (which is against WA rules)
he clearly says near the end of the video to contact him for more info about thrive themes.
However, you can simply go to google and get it.

Hi, Jim-Bo.Did you know that some themes cost and they have there own tools. You can't go to wordpress themes and find what I use. These themes are owned by other sources, Yes you do upload them to wordpress after you have a License. There is a little difference I know.

Yes it is and it is not the theme. It is the process that wordpress can't match period. This is the best solution for someone who is not fond of HTML or have very little experience with website development .
