Hey PastorDre and thank you for the tutorial.

Just to confirm, all the changes that you made to the website, it was all done in the basic version of GeneratePress? I am asking because I have basic GeneratePress installed and it looks differently for me: The customisation bar is on the left and there is no option for Home cover image change. Can that be because my Home page is not static?

Thank you,
Tatiana

Hi Tatiana, whenever you install a new theme, it will always look different than most who have customized with it. In your case, the theme has MANY customization options.

When you say customization is on the left, do you mean you are in your dashboard, appearance, customize area? If so, then this location is normal for it and as for the home cover, you should be able to upload a logo (basically a home cover image) there.

If this isn't what you're trying to do, then you probably have a blog roll for your home page which is totally fine and you can in the future set it to be a specific home page (static page).

PastorDre is using the native Block Editor, rather than the Classic Editor, did you follow the steps at the beginning of his video to enable this? If you have and this isn't your issue, maybe you could add a screenshot of what you are seeing, compared to what PastorDre has in his video. We can then help point you in te right direction.

Hi Vitaliy, thank you for your reply. You are right I did have a blog roll for my home page but now I have set it up to be static and am building it using Elementor plug-in. However, I cannot manage to either over lap my header with the hero picture or remove the header all together. That is because there does not seem to be an option to edit the header background so I can make it look part of my colorful home page and not just plain white :)

Thank you,
Tatiana

Chrystopher, you are right! It was the Block editor that had to be enabled. Crap, I did see PastorDre making the changes but somehow ignored it.....thank you for pointing it out to me :)

Cheers,
Tatiana

thank you, pastor, Dre amazing tutorial. been searching for a way to improve the look of my blog and found the video.
Short and straight to the point.
Very good will be starting building it. Few questions though, can I use Hestia theme and create the same pages.
Also which one would you recommend for building a blog, Elemetor or block editor. I heard that the safest was block as sometimes Elementor can mess up and make your website run slower. is this correct?
Got that info from youtube not from here. but would gladly appreciate input from the community.

Hello Christelle, don't be confuse yourself in choosing which of which the best editor for your website. Elementor Block is a one words.

There is no such thing that there is a Block Editor. Elementor yes, there is under Wordpress. A kind of a little bit expensive compare to other. But as far as I do my research they are offering a 70% discount this Black Friday.

If you are new in building a Website try to mingle the free one then later on you can decide which is best for you.

I am not actually a GIG person to help you more. But I try my best people will not mislead in a wrong direction.

Good luck to you and best regards,

Nila

Thank you for your input so you would say that block editor is safer to use than Elementor

What webinar service do you use? Everything is crystal clear and I would love to start doing them a couple times a year soon.

Just a note: The number of websites with the Premium Membership is now 10 since the May Update, and the annual price is now $495 a year, a savings of 2 months.
