In 1998, Amazon launched its affiliate program. Internet entrepreneurs that keyed into the program were able to make some cool money online, even though the earnings were not huge.

Amazon started out as an online store that offered great opportunities to professional and amateur writers alike, and a place where those with passion for books could get access to a wide variety of books from the different authors and on different subjects and categories of life.

As of 1996, Amazon’s office was at Jeff Bezos’ garage. On Amazon’s platform, writers and readers alike are able to connect. Instead of paying to get books advertised, Amazon paid people if they referred customers to them and those customers would in turn buy something from the platform. That way, Amazon didn’t have to spend money on advertising.

To earn some good money, you would need to sell hundreds of books. With time, it has become easier and faster to make money on Amazon. And, they have different products that you can earn with.

With regards to payment, Amazon paid just between 1% to 8% commissions, although it depends on the product and the number of sales. To earn on Amazon, you will need to dedicate some of your time to researching and developing marketing strategies.

Hi Israel, it is what it is. Either way I have not been very successful with Amazon.

Oh, Michael, I understood that quite well. Not everyone uses Amazon. And people are greatly successful elsewhere. I know you're successful with blogging, my friend. Thanks for reaching out all the way!

Hey Karin, thanks for reading my Amazon Affiliate program training! Much appreciated, friend! What do you have to say about the lowered commission rate on Amazon? Is it your pleasure?

The Amazon commissions have dropped like a rock for most products so for me it is no longer worth it. 1% commissions just won't cut it for me.

Thanks for stopping by, chender684! Anyways, I still consider Amazon Associates a good source of income as it lets anyone you refer from your site shop the stores and you earn the commissions for a 24-hour extension whether they buy the product you advertise or not. So, it's still worth it if we look at it in that direction. Thanks for your great visit!

Sorry Israel, I am not seeing that anymore since they changed their commission rates way down.

I can understand the situation right now with the commission rate lowered, honestly! It should have been raised rather than being lowered. I'm sure there are many better earning platforms out there that are offering good commission rates. Thanks again!

Much grateful, Chegu! Thanks so much for reading my Amazon Associates tutorial! Without looking at the lower commission rate, Amazon is still a promising affiliate program to earn lots of money due to the cookie system introduced.
