I am having trouble getting to the editor section to put in a meta to verify my site with an affiliate program I am trying to set up for. I have tried doing it on my phone and it continually times out and says it has redirected me too many times and I also can't seem to access it on my desktop either. It says I can also verify by adding an html file to my site to verify it, but I have no clue how to do that either. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for this training, well explained and easy to follow. Just what I needed. :)

The only thing I had a hard time with was with AIO SEO. They must have updated their plugins since you posted your training. It should be noted that we don't paste the whole meta tag, BUT ONLY "the code" in the Bing webmaster center.

So I did this and it all seemed to work fine so thank you for spending the time to write this post. my webpage doesn't look any different, though. Should it? I haven't been approved yet for Google AdSense yet so maybe after they approve my site?

Hi! I want to modify a few things on my theme (fonts, colors, font sizes, shadows...) but they recommend I add a child theme. Would this plugin work or should I literally write some piece of code?

I go to the "theme header" then where should i paste the HTML code?
at the bottom?
Thanks
Reply
pas1745 Premium
Hello, Phil. After you go to your Theme Header, scroll down until you see this: <head>, place your cursor in front of this and space to start a new line. This is where you should paste the code. Don't forget to update your files at the bottom left. I hope this helps. Take care.

RaeAnne, In the Tutorial, go to page 6. Look where the red arrow is pointing. Place the Code below the <head> and UPDATE at the bottom left. Do not delete ANYTHING, this will cause problems in this HTML area. The <head> is the opening Tag and </head> is the closing Tag, as long as you don't go below </head>, this is where you should paste the code. I hope this will help you to understand Take care.

Okay I found <HEAD> Do I delete the letters HEAD and then insert the code between the <>?
Reply
PIOFJR Premium
No, Don't delete, just put your cursor at the end of the <head> and hit enter to create space and then paste the code.
Reply
pas1745 Premium
Hello, RasAnnePond, PIOFJR, is correct.
Reply
RaeAnnePond Premium
This is the error I keep getting. I did as PIOFJR said, I put the cursor at the head of <HEAD> hit enter and then pasted the code in the newly created space. What am I doing wrong?

Did you update
Reply
RaeAnnePond Premium
Yes. I found there are two sections marked <HEAD>. One is in the middle of code and the other is just below it and above this line:
<body <?php body_class(); ?> id="wrapper"> I put the code between <HEAD> and <body <?php body_class(); ?> id="wrapper"> . I tried in both <HEAD> and neither will validate
Reply
RaeAnnePond Premium
I see I did not explain that very well:

<HEAD>
<?php global $songwriter_options_db; ?>
<meta charset="<?php bloginfo( 'charset' ); ?>" />
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, minimumscale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0" />
<title><?php wp_title( '|', true, 'right' ); ?></title>
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
[removed][removed]
<![endif]-->
<?php if ($songwriter_options_db['songwriter_favicon_url'] != ''){ ?>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo esc_url($songwriter_options_db['songwriter_favicon_url']); ?>" />
<?php } ?>
<?php wp_head(); ?>

</head>

<body <?php body_class(); ?> id="wrapper">

See how there are two <HEAD> Which do I insert after?
Reply
PIOFJR Premium
Try in the <head> the second one bottom, will see if it works
