Hi.

In this quick video I show you how you can add PDF files to your website with an image.

I show you how you can do this easily and quickly in a post/page or in your sidebar.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Attention!
This will make the PDF file public for everyone!
The way I show here can not be used if you want to give away a PDF file to email subscribers.

HI Moritz,
I liked your training but I have a problem getting the file into the media library because it's too big. But in order to work with it does it have to be in the media library? I didn't understand that widget method but is the end result to link to a pdf file? I would like to have the pdf just take up a page within the website and the link could go to the pdf and open that page in the site. Is there any way of doing that?

Thanks very much,
Barbara

Hi, sorry for my late reply.
You could, of course, upload the file somewhere else. For example in dropbox and then link to it. For that you would have to set the file to public in your dropbbox.

There might be plugins to make it easier and to just display the pdf file on a page, but I don't know about that.

Yes, the end result of my training is, that we link to an uploaded pdf file.

Cheers

That’s quite easy. I learn something new. I thought we have to create some sort of codes for the ebook in order to place it in the widget. Thanks for the tutorial =)

You are welcome.
Yes, it is easy when you know how. ;)
Glad I could help.

But like I wrote in the description. That way everybody gains access to that PDF file.
Don't use this way, if you want to build a mailing list.

Yeah, I always put my own "ads" in my sidebars. (Works the same way like in the video. Just link the image to a review then.)
No Adsense stuff there on my sites. ;)

That's good to know, I've never done it before and I'll definitely do that (add my own ads to my sidebar) today! Thanks again Moritz.
