I recently saw a question asking how to find a URL link to a website post.

This questioner also stated that they did not know how to add links on posts or pages.

I realised that this was something which had puzzled me for some time before I managed to work it out by a process of trial and error, so I thought that therefore there may be some newer members who also may not be quite sure how to do this.

Links are an essential part of our websites, hence this training.....

Hi, I thought I knew how to post links to my website because there are already several on my website. So when I tried to post some in 1 section I didn't have any, I got nothing. I came back to your adding links to posts to make sure I was doing it right. After reading, I was doing it right. I highlight, copy, and paste. But nothing pastes! I have put links from this same place in another part of my website dashboard previously. What am I NOT doing this time, please? I didn't think I had to be under admin to put links in? I don't think I was to do the rest? https://cook2connect.com is my website. #2. ckbks & magazines is where I'm trying to add links. Could you please help me? For 2 days it's been driving me nuts! Thank you!!

When you are adding a link to your page and hit the link button it will pop up a small box where you add the link. To the right is a button that stands for settings, click on that and then add the link and information there. It should link at that point. Let me know if this worked. I want to make sure I understood your question.

I think that Rebecca has you covered there, but please do let us know if you still can't make it work :)

Thank you for replying! Yes, you understood my ?. Yes I did EXACTLY as you said. I still went to place the URL in the link and NOTHING filled in after copying, switching to post and pasting. Do you know of any reason that it wouldn't post? I've tried posting text and pictures and nothing. I really think there is something I do/don't have pushed in WP that isn't allowing it to work, but I don't know WP well enough to tell!?

Thank you for responding. I do understand linking and have been doing it like everyone's been telling me how. I still don't get anything to paste in the box after copying. I'm sure it's probably something small pushed/not pushed that's messing it up! Guess I'll keep trying different things? Thank You!

Are you trying to add your affiliate link, a link to another page on your website or a link to somewhere else on the same page?

I know I have a button pushed/not pushed because I can't even paste writing on the post that I copied to put as a description and info paragraph. Does anyone know WP enough to know how to fix it? Please & Thank You!

I would suggest tat you refresh your edit page.
If that still doesn't work, maybe restart your computer.
If you are still having problems, then contact Site Support, I'm sure they will be able to help you.

Believe it or not, after this yesterday, all of a sudden my links to Amazon stopped working and I can not link to anything either. I saw a suggestion that we should restart our computers and it that doesn't work then contact support. I guess that is our options at this point. Good luck, let me know how yours work out.

HI,
Thank you for the info. This is really important to me, since there is no point to doing this if I cannot link to anything.
Your training explained using a WA link and an internal link. I ama having trouble because I am trying to link to CJ and other retailers.
Thank you for your help.

Not a problem, you can use the same method for that, putting in your CJ affiliate link. I use this method for adding my Amazon links and my Aweber affiliate link etc. :)

Thanks much Chrisse! Appreciate much. Real helpful.

But I still have a question regarding sharing WA link to my Facebook page so my question is, do I follow the same procedure ?

Thanks.
Reply
Chrissies Premium
Hi Joni
Yes, you would use the same method for sharing your link anywhere.

However, Facebook does not really like direct links to WA and will probably not let you put it there. In that case, the best thing to do is to put a link to a page on your own website where you have your link to WA.

I do hope this helps you, please do ask if you need any further help.

The best of luck with everything

Chrissie :)

do I need to start an ad campaign to be able to post links on my website?
Reply
anika2 Premium
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this question, but I think the answer is no. For example, the first thing shown in this training is adding your affiliate link for Wealthy Affiliate in all your posts or pages. You can do that any time, even if your website has nothing to do with it.

The training also helps you to add links to UrLS may have nothing to do with campaigns - may be other articles or websites that add to your content.

If you are part of other affiliate programs, you need to sign up with them and get the links from those programs to ensure you are compensated.

Does any of that answer your question?

Hi there Chrissie,
I have just found your blog on links and how to add same to your website, great post, very helpful... congrats and thanks for that.
Quick question...Kyle says to add at least 5 links per page of our site....Do we add 5 links to every page and do we also add the links to our posts ?

Thanking you in anticipation,
Cheers.......Philip Browne
