In order to monetize your website through affiliate programs, you are going to need to understand how to properly add affiliate links.
In this video I am going to walk you through the process of adding affiliate links (in my example, Amazon links) to both textual content and image based content. The process is very simple once you understand it and after going through this video, you are going to have a sound understanding of the affiliate link creation process.
If you do have any questions or comments about affiliate links, please leave them below and I will be more than happy to give you a hand.

Hi, I was putting up my first affiliate links today, and I noticed that amazon text+link banners don't show up if you have Adblock (which many people do). So I decided to avoid them.
Instead, I put up a regular text link as the title, and linked an image from Amazon, but the image is also considered an affiliate link meaning I now have 2 affiliate links per product. Factor in the fact that I always do a comparison chart at the bottom of my article, that's 4 affiliate links per product. If I have 5 products on my page, I can easy run 20+ affiliate links just because of the images. Does anyone know a way around this, where I can put product images up that aren't links and don't violate Amazon's terms?
Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

To say I am confused would be an understatement! My article has several different products in it. Do you have to write a review for each product that has a link in it? If so, does that verbage become part of the article?
I also have another post about hotels near Sea World in Orlando. Should I use a comparison pricing on this? Hotels change their rates all the time and I surely don't think it's my place to quote prices anyway. I don't want to get sued by anyone! I can mention better amenities, but I said that in the description of each of the hotels.?????
Wow. I think I chose a rough site as my first one!
Can anyone even follow my problem as I described it?
I really need HELP.
Thanks to anyone who can help with this situation.

*BRIDGE PAGES* Adding Affiliate Links to Your Pages From 00:00 to 1:59 on this video, Kyle talks about the use of Bridge Pages...
If I understand correctly, he is saying that we should not include affiliate links on each of our individual blog posts, and that we should instead be linking from each of our blog posts to one central page on our website... which would be the ONLY page on which the affiliate links would be posted...
This would be the "bridge page"... the bridge between your website and the affiliate site.
Is this an absolute? I also read in the comments in this discussion that supposedly we should only include one affiliate link per 500 words (or maybe even just any type of link per 500 words)...
I tried Googling this concept of the bridge page, and it seems to be extremely relevant for Google Adwords... I couldn't find any other source that talk about using bridge pages on general Wordpress-hosted blog websites...?
Anyone have any success one way or the other with this?
I need to get my affiliate links posted on my website today, and if the bridge page is a must, then I'm going to need to create that extra page first....
Thanks!!

I am a bit confused about this. My content pages don't mention any products or specific items even though I have joined Amazon as an Affiliate, so how do I just add a link to these posts. Do I have to go back in and edit my posts to mention specific products, or do reviews on everything that I want to promote

In the above video, Kyle suggested that we do not add affiliate links to all of our posts, in order for our website to not be seen as a bridge page by Search Engines.
Is there a kind of a ratio or a percentage to determine that? Say my website has 50 posts, on how many of them would it be wise to add affiliate links?
Thank you very much in advance for your time and replies.

I have watched the video on how to add affiliate links, I had an idea how to add them before watching the video and the video confirmed I was doing the right thing. I have 2 links working on my website 1 for jaaxy and one for WA. When I try to add any other links on my site they don't work. I tried adding them in HTML and also in text format not visual and they still don't work. I am at my wits end as I've been trying now for nearly 2 days. Can anyone help please?

I just finished my first post with affiliate links, it took me forever to get the links within the content to work properly, but i think i finally fixed that. I tried to add links to some of the images as well, but for some reason, every time i added them and then clicked on update, they were no longer there, so i just gave up on that. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for adding links to images? I

Following the instructions that Kyle gives in the training video, I just inserted a product link into my content that should take whoever clicks on it to a product on Amazon. When I click on it, it opens a new page, and the page is blank. Does anyone know what the problem is or what I am doing wrong? Why just a blank page?

Just got my first affiliate link through Amazon Associates. I am waiting for approval from CJ.com to get another affiliate link from them. I am excited to insert these links into my website product review posts! I do have one question. Is it better to do a product review as a post or as a page? Or does it not matter either way?

Hi Kyle, I've just had a look at this post again, because I'm trying to figure out if it's legal/right or possible to add posts like this to my website? Any WA community post for that matter. OR, are we just able to share the post, using our affiliate link at the top, on to our social media platforms and not actually copy it to a new post in our websites? I'd appreciate clarification on this, thank you.

So I watched Kyle's video twice and yet when I go to view the post after linking it, it says it not available. Why? Do I have to wait 24 hours or any set time after signing up for Amazon? It took me to my account and the link was present for me to copy and paste. Please help if you have any idea.

This was an amazing video! Just a few questions about placement of affiliate links:
1. Can you only place them in a review? Can you place throughout an article?
2. Can you place affiliate links throughout an article for different products or services?
2. My site is dating advice and I wrote article on top 5 dating sites---can I affiliate link these 5 dating sites or should I pick one dating site to do so?
3.Another article I wrote was dating advice for men--I want to add affiliate link for dating advice for men service---do I have to do a review on this dating advice service or can i link it in the word " dating advice" Wasn't sure how to do this one?
Thank you so much everyone!!

First of all, I wanna say thanks to the video Kyle.
But I have one questions that pops in my mind, for the affiliate link, how can I link it to a bigger box and how to create the square/rectangular box?
Below is the image of an example of the Affiliate Link that I actually wanted. It's directly from Wealthy Affiliate website and it says 'Get Started Today!' which is an Affiliate Link within a small rectangular box?

Thanks Kyle it is great to be getting into the business end of the training.
My problem is I have written 4 books and intend to promote them through affiliate links. In short I will be both a affiliate marketer and a merchant. Is promoting your own products covered anywhere in the training?
Many thanks.

Thank you for this great video.
My problem is that I don't know why I should insert the affiliate links right now? I didn't write any review yet :/ And even if I would try to put some links in my already written content, it would look spammy, because I made my posts only about general tips.
I know that I will write a review later as I go through the course, but I want to make sure that I am doing everything right.
Would be happy to get an answer :)
All the best

I enjoyed the video and I think it will be helpful. I was wondering how I would go about generating income off of my site without it seeming spammy, and this pointed me in the right direction.
My one question would be is there a template for creating review pages? I didn't see a template in the site content tab on SiteRubix and having something to work with would be beneficial.
Also is it legal to use the images of the product that Amazon and the other affiliate groups have on their pages to review and promote their products?
Thanks for your help in advance!

This is a great video explaining how to insert a product link within a review, but I'm wondering what to do with an article outlining multiple varieties of one product, or at some points different colors of the same product (from the same vendor).
I don't want to spam my page with a bunch of links, like Kyle says, but it would be a disservice to simply link people to the search results, which is also an option. So what can I do?

Very well laid out presentation; can be viewed again to help apply to our own sites; unfortunately not know this information before I have laid out my site completely wrong for links and will have to rework it quite a bit to make sure I do not link too many things on one page....the learning curve on your first site definitely will make your following sites much more simple and efficient

I am confused about this. The video states that if all of our content pages have links then google won't like that. How many pages should have links then? Also, Kyle used a review page. There was no previous lesson on the use of review pages. How do i monetize my pages? Don't know what to do.

So, too many affiliate links are bad??? I have over 1000 products of my own I wanted to link to through some product pages. My links would only be embedded into a picture of the product sort of in a gallery theme....think 1000 pictures of artwork each with a link to the purchase site. Also, some products would point to amazon and some to ebay and some to others. If I go that route am I gonna sabotage myself or will the fact that it is embedded in the picture hide it them any.

I talk about computer parts on my site. It seems Amazon links are for specific products only while banners can be for specific products or general categories like "video cards". Which works better - to promote a specific product or link to a category so the buyer can search for what he wants?

How do I get graphic associated with product link or banner to load? If I search for the product link for an item it displays a picture of the item, its name and then "Get link" with a down pointing arrow next to it. If I click the down pointing arrow, I get a url. I attached that successfully to a word and a picture so that works. If I click "Get link", I get a small picture of the item and the html code to load it. Above the pic it says
"You do not need to download the graphic. Just highlight and copy the HTML code provided below, then paste it into the code for your Web site"
So I tried pasting it into my page but it doesn't work. I clicked Text at the top right of the page to display the html code and then I pasted the Amazon html code onto my page. When I go back to the Visual tab, I get the above error message where the Amazon pic should be. I can't get banners to work either.

Hi,
Do I need to create a product review page(s) before I can add affiliate links? i.e. Avoid adding affiliate links to my pages with content. Instead point to my product reviews which will contain the affiliate links?
Assuming adding affiliate links to page content will harm Google rankings.

Is it possible to use the bare link to a product or to Amazon generally? (Instead of using the text or image they provide you?) I find that if I go to "text only", I can isolate the link from the code, and then share the link, but it seems that when someone purchases from that link, I don't get a commission. Any insights?

Is it okay to add affiliate links to pages or posts that aren't reviews? I understood that we need to write reviews and put affiliate links there. Now I am feeling a little bit confused after reading that I need to add at least 3 affiliate links to my content (course 3, lesson 4). Right now I don't have reviews.
Thanks!

I've followed the instructions that Kyle provided in the video, and the link appears in red on my page, but when I click it, the web page does not open. One question I have - the link that the affiliate program provided begins like this:

Do I copy in the ENTIRE URL? starting with the <a

As usual, Kyle's video is succinct and to the point. Thanks Kyle.
I have some extra information and a question.
The extra information is that Amazon has introduced a Wordpress plugin to simplify the process of keeping up with product details. Here is their blurb:
"It connects to our real-time Product Advertising API, which means that all information found in the Link Builder is current and accurate including prices, images, and product availability. Previously one needed to have programming knowledge to be able to tap into the power of the Product Advertising API, but with the Link Builder plugin the heavy lifting’s already been done."
That looks really powerful, and a timesaver.
My question is: Has anybody on here used the plugin, or added their own interface (requires programming experience, which I have) to access the Amazon API? If so, what is your opinion about using them as opposed to manually keeping track of of the continued accuracy of your associate links?
Thanks,
Bill

Great video, short and sweet and packed with great info. It looks so easy, I am off to add mine now.
Thank you, Kyle.
I do have a question, though, say you add a link to a product and several months down the road Amazon or some other Affiliate no longer stocks that item, will they notify you so that you can either change the existing link or delete?
Also, which would be better, add a different Affiliate or delete the link completely?
Thanks in advance, Kyle.

Thanks Kyle, the training is superb, please I was looking to stealth my links.
For example instead of my traditional HopLink appearing like this…
http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
the link should look something like this…
http://www.yourwebsite.com/link/
Please can I get a guide to do this?
Thank you.

Hello everyone, in the video it says don't add affiliate links to all your pages but I have a problem. Here's my link http://about-makeup.com/my-reviews I have multiple products on one page and I have other pages like this as well... How am I supposed to go about this? I don't want to add a new page for every product because that would be so many pages so I don't know what to do.

Just wondering about what you said about not including links on every page- please could you give an indication of how many might be good? I'd hate to damage my standing with Google.
Thanks, Christine

I believe in re-reading or watching to find out all the how-to's of something. I also think "outside the box", meaning if I choose to try something, I try it. They can't kill you! The worst thing that could happen is you get an error message saying, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT" or something to that affect. Don't be afraid to try new things, and don't let the internet intimidate you. You're bigger than they are (sort of). DO IT. Worry later! :)
