Oh yes, I intended to ask:

Can someone please share their knowledge of how to add an image for the WA Affiliate Program to Pinterest so I can promote the program?

I tried several ways of attempting to do so from creating a Pin (prior to creating a Board) to using the Pintrest Save button.

But I repeatedly got an error message.....talkng about spam. I;m very much interested in promoting the program.

I didn't have any issues with creating other Boards and Pins as instructed in the Training.

Help....

Thank you,
D-AnnTaylor

I don't use Pinterest but I heard they might be blocking affiliate links. You should probably point the link to your website where you are promoting WA, rather than directly to an affiliate link.

You can try using a link shortener as Tim suggested in this thread. I'm not sure if that will work.

Perhaps Lynn's training will help you. She knows a lot about Pinterest.

She has also provided links to her other Pinterest trainings. Kyle does further training on Pinterest in the level 4 course: ~Jude

Try again, but shorten your WA affiliate link using something like Bitly. Social platforms do not like affiliate links, so it's worth shortening them in one way or another.

Any help with the following will be greatly appreciated.

When I add a post from my website on pinterest, the image comes across but I don't have any text on the image on the board. How do I get a title or description on the image? Is it pulling the caption or something?

Also, when I select a person to follow or a board, some folks have a name and what looks like a tagline. How do I get a tagline on my boards?
Reply
Liz1234 Premium
Hey Claudette! I was having issues with your first questions not too long ago. What I started doing was make a custom pin by writing the words boldly from Microsoft words or Pages if you have a Mac. This helped me and I was able to get the bold appealing title that people want to click on. If your pin on't have a great pic and title, ppl will least likely to pick it. Hopes this helps!

What you can do is make a separate page for this and just copy pate the whole page so you can put on what you want

If you can't pin it from your blog, go to Pinterest and when you are in, you go to the plus in the right corner, under, and then you follow the instructions.

The plus button is right below. When you push the plus button there appear a button for website and when you say no to that you have to push the plus button again and then you will see the same images that Kyle has shown us.

Hi guys,
Can someone tell me how to upload a photo to my Pinterest profile? I thought I could do it through clicking the person icon but it seems like I can't.

While you’re on your profile, click on the gear icon (image below). Then, scroll down to profile and click the Change Picture button.

Also the Pinterest board is considerably different from the training. I don't see a plus symbol. How do I pin content to my board the way it is now?
Reply

On your profile, click on Pins (image below). You’ll then see the + Save a Pin (image below) on the left. Click on it and choose either from the web (your website) or Your Device (your PC). Then, just follow the instructions.

Go to your Pinterest homepage (not dashboard). Just pin a random image and add it to your board. You can delete the pin you just pinned later. Then, go to that board and you’ll see the add a pin icon.
Reply
demarsd Premium
I guess I tried so long that Pinterest got the idea. I just tried to login again and Pinterest said, looks like you want a business account. I said yes and all the buttons appeared. The reason why I had a problem is that I setup my Pinterest account in 2011 and never used it. I only went back there because of the WA training.

Thanks again, I think things will be OK now. Dave

The plus symbol you see in the video is no longer available with the current Pinterest.

To pin your blog, go to the board where you want to pin the image, click on the + Add a Pin (picture below). It will ask from where you want to get the pin and choose The Web. Then just type in the URL of site and click Next. Pick the image you want to pin and fill in the details.

Hope this helps =)

Reply

As it says. You can direct it to your posts with WA texts, this is the same.
Reply
goakes Premium
Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand your answer. What do you mean by "WA texts". If you're referring to the affiliate links, they don't seem to be working withing Pinterest. I keep getting the "Sorry..." message. This must be a recent development in Pinterest, I tried to open other peoples WA pins that were already there; none would open and I got a similar message.

I am missing something here. When I copy my link to the new promotion I did for wealthy affiliate it doesn't end up as a link. It looked like Kyle just copied and pasted the affiliate link but when I do it it behaves like just text.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do to make this act like a link?
Reply
stephhill Premium
Are you trying to copy your own affiliate link into Pinterest? And if so, be careful because many social media sites will penalize you for putting in affiliate links directly.
Reply
bjdluna Premium
Yes, I just copied and pasted my affiliate link from one of the trainings. How should I get the link into Pinterest? It didn't recognize it as a link anyway it just pasted as more text so I watched the video Kyle made and it looked like he just copied a link into pinterest and it turned out to be a link. Since i am not supposed to do that how would I get a link to WA over to Pinterest?

This is what is called a closed link. It is there however, that is why your courser turns into a little hand. You have open and closed links. Get it?

Oh my gosh! I've been a Pinterest junkie for - well, pretty much ever since it was new. I have 25 boards and followers for each board. I had no idea it would benefit me in the future! It takes a little time to work up to this, but it just happens naturally as you use Pinterest.

Pinterest mobile app is so easy to use, people use it on work breaks, in waiting rooms, and any time they have a little time to kill. Up until now, I've only used it as a hobby because it's fun. It also reaches alot of people who aren't "computer saavy" because they can get how-to do it yourself instructions for just about anything.

And it is addicting! Happy pinning!

Reply

Hi Kelly, I was advised to start off by pinning at least five per day until you have a substantial board. You'll notice that you're given an option to post the pin on twitter and fb. When I started doing that, I found that others started following me on pinterest and also repinning my pins on their boards.

A nice free way of getting exposure to your site. I also regularly add other people's pins to my boards.

Happy pinning!

Not yet, but what you want to do is manually take the file they give to you, save it to your computer, then upload it via FTP into your /httpdocs folder on your site. This should do the trick.
