Let’s cover the WHY first...

The old version of Google Search Console and the “Fetch as Google” tool will no longer be available after March 2019.

If you’re familiar with the Google Search Console, then you may be accustomed to the “old version,” which included a “crawl” feature with a tool known as “Fetch as Google.”

The new version of Google Search Console has a different dashboard, with quite a different sidebar menu.

As the process of creating and releasing the new version of Search Console continues, many people are reverting back to the old version to regain access to the previous tools.

However, many of these tools are being updated or replaced.

If you’re wondering why there is no menu selection for “Fetch as Google” on the new version, it’s because the tool has been replaced with the “URL Inspection Tool.”

In the image above, you can see the new Dashboard, and I've used the Help box to display the transition message.

So, HOW do you use the new URL Inspection Tool?

Let’s find out…
