Like many plugins that we want to use, we have to install them within our WordPress website.

To find the Pretty Link Plugin, access your website dashboard and click on the plugins tab.

As soon as you click on that tab, it should show you all of the plugins that you downloaded and installed for your site.

What you want to do from here, is simply go to the add new plugin that could be found at the top of the page, and click that tab.

Like so:

Once clicked, you'll be brought to the page where you could download and activate new plugins for your site.

Just head off to the top right corner of the page, and you'll see the box where you could search for plugins.

In that box, enter "Pretty Link" and it should pull up the plugin we are looking for.

I have a picture below to help you visually see what it is we're looking for.

Once you found the plugin, simply "Install", then "Activate" the plugin.

Follow along on the next page for further guidance.

Quick question-why would we want to use pretty link on our blogs given that we can just link anything in the text without showing the actual URL? I can imagine pretty link would be great for social media, but why on a blog. Thanks!

You can see the actual link in blogs when you hover your mouse over the links. It's a good branding strategy as well as hiding long affiliate links. I just wouldn't do it for Amazon links though.

Then what plugin would you use for Amazon links if you don't mind me asking?

I've been using Pretty Link for a while now with my Amazon links and it works fine.

But if you tried something else that works better, I would love to try it out and see if it improves my sales. Thanks.

It covers up long and unwanted links, and allows you to name your links what you want, it also helps you track what links you are throwing out there on your blog posts.

It's a strategy I use and it works out very well, if it's not your style, you don't have to use it.

Just sharing what works out for me that's all.

Have a good one :)

I'm saying don't hide Amazon links at all, you can be rejected from their program if they find out you're doing it as that's not allowed.

But I am just confused because within a blog post we can use the hyperlink and change the link to whatever words you want to use, so I am just wondering what the advantage is? I am just trying to understand in case I am missing something important. Thanks for the info. :)
