Fund raising is often a major part of the work of non-profits and small groups. Affiliate marketing, as taught by WA, can help with that task.
Follow a plan in presenting how to monetize a website.
- Define affiliate marketing. Reinforce your definition by showing Yahoo or AOL.
- Define monetizing the website. You can use your own website or a mock up site. Demonstrate adding both affiliate products and affiliate banners.
- Help members visual affiliate commissions with members families, and friends buying through the affiliate links. Use mock figures to demonstrate.
For example: 20 families spending $50 monthly with an 8% commission = $80 x 12 months = $960 annually. Its easy to use figures that approximate group membership to create an example.
Its important to emphasize that this is passive income. Once the site is set up, when people buy through the site the commissions are earned. There will be less need to stand in a snack shop at games and sell chili or to ice cup cakes for bake sales.
You explanation of how to earn through the website should be realistic.
Explain the possibility of WA referrals.
Add a WA banner to your mock site. Explain that some parents, as they buy through the site will be interested in learning through WA. If they sign up through the WA banner on the website, the organization will receive a commission.
