Make Your Content Standout

Optimizing your content is vital for SEO. Google gives higher weight to well-structured text because most people skim through it before reading it. The first few sentences of a paragraph grab readers’ attention and are usually the first thing they look for. The same applies to your blog content. The more readable your website content is, the better it will rank in Google.

Using the inverted pyramid format, you can place the most important ideas at the top of the page. Make sure you use subheadings and headings and optimize your URLs with the most popular keywords.

An excellent way to optimize your website for search is to organize your content by logical hierarchy. Using H2 and H3 tags indicates that the content is hierarchical.

The article should not begin with an H3 tag but with an H1 or H2-level subhead. The structure of the content is crucial to its ranking on Google. So, it must follow a basic outline.

Having a website with an appealing structure is essential for search engines and users. The audience wants to browse through content and find it easily digestible.

I never use H1 anyplace but the blog title, where Wordpress uses it automatically. If my post is long enough, I like to use H2 and H3, but for shorter posts I just use H2 or maybe even no headers.

I like to use one of the plugins that shows the content of post according to the headers, partly for the convenience of the reader but also for me to check that I have the H levels correct.

That sounds like a great plan Rosana.

Thanks for a very informative training on Google content for SEO. However, I do have a few questions. When it comes to the articles I get the title will be an H1 however the very first heading after that should be H1 or H2 right? Well what about the rest of the subheadings should they all be H2, or should they be H3 after that? And then my final question is the HTML tags what are they because I got lost with that?

Yes I new that. However it’s the five subheading I’m asking about. Thanks though.

Hi Kersti,
What I do is all headings after the title are H3. It's about keeping a consistent plan throughout your post. H2 can seem too large for your website.
