This Is Basically A Written Description Of What I Do On The Video.

Google Webmaster Verification. Okay, First, if I were you, I would get my URL from SiteRubix Site Manager. Then, you will log into that account you want to verify. When you are in your WordPress, Click on the All In One SEO General Settings. Scroll down until you See Webmaster Verification. I am going to discuss Google Webmaster Tools Verification Today. Okay, In the video, I am going to keep this spot in Wordpress open. Now I will go to Google Webmaster Tools Homepage. Just in case you do not have a shortcut, I have a Link below Video.

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home

Now before I do anything here, I will get a Copy of the URL for the Website I want Verified. Due to the fact I already have Websites verified, Google Webmaster Tools will recognize me. Okay. I will click on ADD A SITE. I will put in my URL and click Continue. Then I prefer the Alternate Methods. So, I check the HTML tag Box which then shows:

Add a meta tag to your site's home page.

If you can, just copy what is in between the Quotation marks. If not, no worries, just copy it all. Then go back to your WordPress.

Paste the meta tag in the Google Webmaster Tools spot. Delete everything except what is in between the Quotation Marks.

Then Scroll down and Update Options.

Now you can go back to Webmaster Tools where you got the Meta tag at.

Click Verify.

If everything was done correctly, you should be verified and can move on to your next Task. Hope this helps many get their Websites Verified!

I'm new and have been going through the training. I looked for alternate ways to verify so I would not have to mess with the html. I came across another training that is not that old and was just wondering if it is typical here to find duplicate training. Is there not any check and balance? The other training is my.wealthyaffiliate(dot)com/training/how-to-verify-site-in-webmaster-tools-without-adding-html-to-header (sorry, I cannot include links yet as I am still in my free trial)
I really am just curious about the duplicate content as I thought that was frowned upon.

Since the trainings aren't two copies of the same text, that doesn't get flagged by google as a duplicate content. Google detects and flags content that is a word-for-word duplicate from one site to another.

I see. So it's okay to duplicate as long as it's not copied word for word? As in this case, one is video and the other screenshots but the information is exactly the same.

While the basic information is the same, since the two trainings are so different in the way that the information is presented, these would not be flagged as duplicate content.

Your website may have a description of how to do x and another may have a different way of describing the same process. Unless one of you has copied the other's content, the two would not be seen as being duplicated even though they both describe the same process.

AbbyLynn, I did not copy anything. If you look closer, I took less steps and for me simpler steps than is shown in most other Training and I show you in Video form. It is far from a Duplicate! I never copy anything!

Actually Abby, I believe it is dual purposed. After the three month mark we are all allowed to create and add trainings. This often brings out tidbits of information that someone else making the training may have missed. For example, in all the years that I have been building sites and verifying them, I never understood how to do the HTML version until right now when Michael posted this. I always had to use the longer method. So I learned something good today.

Secondly, As we learn how to build training, it is something we can use on our own sites to improve our relationships with our customers.

Nice clear instructions - my issue is that webmaster says there are 2 sites one is www other is http\\
They want me to verify http\\ but totally confused how to do it even with reading the webmaster help & video
Any advice?

Baldykev, Please give URL site you want verified. Most Original URLs that I have seen do not have www. in them I would use the URL that has http:// like:
http://webmasterverication.siterubix.com/
The URL Like that should verify!

Thanks for reply...unfortunately i verified http://wwwafraidofstress.com NOT http://afraidofstress.com
When I launched the Wordpress pug in to generate the site map it came up as http://afraidofstress.com and webmaster wont accept it & want me to verify ownership of http://afraidofstress.com
Thats the issue - back to try and figure it out on webmaster help and Google on how try and resolve it :(

**** UP DATE ***
Still no nearer...lol

So something is working USA/UK & Russia....quite chuffed :)
