There's the cut-throat competition between SEMrush, Moz, and Majestic. Both SEMrush and Moz have this free chrome ext. feature; not sure about Majestic.

Use free tools before you investing in Majestic or AHrefs.
Both Majestic and AHrefs have developers add-ons as well but not SEMrush.

Nothing is cut-throat, they all are great tools but not to be limited to one tool.

I use AHrefs and Moz Bar

At times I use the Majestic free tool as a compare.

Be open minded to be with your research tools.

Sorry, maybe I lacked clarity when I used the words 'cut-throat' - I meant business rivalry between the companies. All these tools have a distinct advantage over the other. And you are right in your observation.
