This was great info. So if I understand correctly, the title of our site really doesn't have to be the same as our website name, correct? From the examples I saw on the Google page, most of them were different. That is great for those of us who did not have site names available that really nailed down our niche as well as we wanted it to.

I did the SEO stuff and my page does not at all look like Kyles page. For example I do not see a page with the text "nothing found" I did the title and description and the upgrade button. When I right click on my page I do not get the html text showing the title or description. Instead I get the long dropdown menu for copy etc. just like with any web page. Any ideas out there please?

hi, not necessary to see the html code but if you want to see it, it is different (how to access it) for different web browsers... which web browser are you using? Chrome, Safari, IE, Firfox

Hi TCUK, Thank you for your reply. I am using IE version 11 as my browser.

mm sorry I have the windows Edge browser,
but try to press F12 and see if it opens Developers tool... but source view I think it was removed some time ago and needs to be activated editing registry data which I don't think you want to do...

try F12 to open tools and see if code shows up or from developer tools choose view source (if enabled)... sorry I don't have 11 here so I cannot actually check it out myself

Hello again TCUK, I tried the F12 route and received no coding text. On the bottom third of the screed appeared a line of terms such as DOM Explorer, Console, Debugger, Network Performance, etc., etc., I believe it's time to call in the cavalry. Any suggestion how I can contact Kyle directly?
Reply
TCUK Premium
I read online that some time ago Microsoft disabled the View Source from 11 and that you have to Enable that option editing a registry key.

BUT.... the thing is you don't really need to do this, you don't need to see the page source, Kyle did that in the video to explain what was being changed.

If you search on google something like
view page source with internet explorer 11
you should see some page explaining how to do it, but really you don't need to.

In terms of contacting Kyle directly, look in your message box here in WA, top right icon menu where you have the 100-airplane, world notification.... Envelope... click on the envelope, you may find in there a direct message from Kyle that you may have already received when you first joined... if it's there I guess you can simply hit Reply :)

Good luck!

You are welcome!

when you press F12 and you see the DOM Explorer, there should be other tabs to the right of DOM Explorer tab

If it shows the Debugger tab, click on Debugger
if you are on your homepage it should show code with line numbers to the left of the code page....

Possibly within the first 10 to 20 lines you should see something like this

10 <title>whatever you chose for your title - as per video</title>

then a few line below you should see something like this

12 <!-- All in One SEO Pack 2.4.3 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[263,331] -->
<meta name="description" content="whatever you wrote while setting up the description for your site ." />

But this is in Edge, hopefully is the same in IE 11

May I ask please ~ are apostrophe's alright to use in the home description field? When using the apostrophe in the description field it shows up as other strings-of-characters in the source meta name section. When I removed the apostrophe from the home description field those other strings-of-characters disappeared from the source section. So, does it really matter or is it best to not use apostrophe's? Thank you! (This was quite difficult to put in words :-).
Reply

I think you should be fine using the apostrophe's. Just because it shows up a little crazy in the text format I can't imagine it will look funny on the actual webpage. Or does it? lol

This video is half way solving my problems. The question is as many pages and posts have already been created should I type in titles and the descriptions on all? And your last action I didn't know where you got the title codes. Also how do I get my IP address. Thanks Kyle for this lesson
Reply
ValerieJoy Premium
Linah, If you are using the All In One SEO plugin which is what Kyle uses in the video demonstration, then all your posts and pages titles and descriptions should happen automatically. If you open one of your pages or posts, in Edit view, scroll down to below the end of the content, you will see details of the SEO plugin as it shows in the video. There, you will see the title and description of that post or page which has been automatically formulated by the plugin. Therefore, you do not need to enter titles and descriptions. They are there for you automatically.

You get your IP address by going to Google and entering into the search bar - What is my IP address. Immediately, your IP address will appear.

One important thing to remember about your IP address is that it changes quite frequently. You can't control the changes. Therefore, every so often, maybe each month, check again with a Google search - What is my IP address.

All the best :)

Thanks so much. I shall check that out but is there any place I have to inscribe it or what should I do after getting it? I appreciate your assistance. God bless Val.

Linah - Are you referring to you IP address? If so, you need that for inserting into your Google Analytics account.
There should be a training on that.

If this is what you question is, let me know and I will see if I can find an appropriate training.

I have just watched the Getting your website SEO ready video and tried to do the same in my site. My question, Do we type manually the title and the description in the All in one SEO settings and save or they are automatically picked from the site. Please help. Do we wait until website is indexed by google and do the settings? mine is not indexed but in the video demo used it was indexed.

The All in one SEO will show you recommended titles, but you will still have to type them in yourself (as well as a description). It will show you a preview as you type to give you an idea of how it will look on Google. You can do it anytime, no need to wait for index ;-)

When I activate all in one SEO i get a pop up asking if i want to import settings from Yoast.
I have activated allin one seo but yoast still shows up - do i delete yoast or just import the settings?
Thanks

For one u can keep Yoast if u like it. It is the same as all-in-one SEO. But if u are going to keep All-in-One SEO then deactivate Yoast after u have imported the settings. Then after it is deactivated then u can keep it or delete it. Up to u.

First of all, I am a complete newbie in regards to SEO. I always thought keywords were important, but in your video, you said that they are not. In fact, you even turned off the keyword search in the All-in-one. I would appreciate very much if you can outline what are the important things that the SEO software look for?

Hello Victor we are in the same boat when it comes to SEOs, but I will try and help you out with this. Keywords in your posts are crucial for people to find your website and posts. They create traffic and potential converts and buyers. It is only in the All in One SEO that Kyle is saying that it is not important to enable, not the rest of your website.

Remember the steps for getting your website onto Google.

1. Add your website as a property into Google Webmaster Tools Search Console
2. Verify your website with Google (also with Bing)
3. Ask Google to crawl your website
4. Ask Google to Fetch your pages as Google
5. Request Google to Index Your pages.

6. You will know your website is indexed when you
type this on your browser: site:http://yourdomain.com
It won't show your pages if not indexed.
7. Wait for ranking by Google (different from being indexed)

Submit your sitemap.xml in the search console as well.
the All-in-one SEO plugin can generate and place your sitmap.xml on you website. Needed for big websites as it helps the google bot to find its way around and learn the structure of large site.

Great lesson Kyle! I was wondering if anyone could clarify to me whether it would be beneficial to keep the "tagline" in the Home Title the same as the "sub-title" in the website title. Does one or the other increase or decrease the odds of driving more traffic to the website?
Reply
billyghawaii Premium
In the page SEO fields are the Title, Description and optional keywords. Priority is to have your best keyword/phrases as part of the page Title. SEO does not render any benefits from the tagline or sub-title of the page. Perhaps there is additional information from the team.

Although this is my second year with WA, I have been on the margin since I signed up so my first year premium just went to waste. I hope this year will be different, and I look forward to that. I am going through the lessons and videos once more, and I can say that so far it has been so good. This particular video is so informative and is helping me big time along the way. Thank You!

Kyle,

Very disappointed in JAAXY site!!!!

I did first keyword search in JAAXY and got a list however...
QSR, KQI, SEO and Domains all blanked out. Plus, after the 15th keyword, the rest of the keywords are blurred out. A pop up at the bottom says upgrade to get full access.
What good is this "30 free searches" if more than half the information is missing?
It's a waste of time. Surely there are other sites or methods to get better information than this misleading website!!!
Reply

There are definitely limitations to the free version. The Pro version is well worth while. That is part of what is being shown to you with the free trial.
Reply
Thomas1863 Premium
Thanks, I am well aware of what free versions normally do to entice you to sign up but, unless I am mistaken, thought Kyle's video said or implied that with the 30 free searches we would get all the information he was showing in the vid.

JAAXY, not withstanding how good they may be, is no different than many other sites with a misleading "free" trial offer. It is a personal peeve of mine - never saw the need to mislead - tell it like it is and then people sign on knowing what to expect

my question is, how to insert keywords in my pages/blog?
Is it as simple as inserting these keywords in relevant sentences and that is it?
should I copy/paste from a keyword tool?
are these keywords hyperlinks?

Yes, you have to incorporate the keywords naturally so it doesn’t sound awkward. To insert keywords you can either manually type it in your contents or copy and paste it to your contents. You can also make your keywords as hyperlinks if you want to.

I believe the guides on the left you are referring to would be your main menu that needs to be configured.
The 3 across the top would be set using featured images.
The pictures along the sides are done using widgets
Where are you in the training? these things should be covered as you move forward

Kyle said it himself that it isn’t that important so don’t worry much about it. In case you still want to fill it in, here’s how.

While you’re in the All In One SEO setting, scroll all the way down to the Keyword Settings – Use Keywords. Tick Enabled. Scroll back up to the Home Page Settings, the Home Keywords should be there.

As for the nothing found, that’s because you haven’t created a post yet. If what you mean by nothing found is you don’t see your pages on your site menu navigation after you published it, then the solution is you have to add them to your menu. Here’s how

Go to Appearance - Menus. If you haven’t created a menu, you should create one. Under Pages on the left, tick the pages you want and click Add to Menu. You'll see the pages added to the Menu Structure on the right. Click, drag and drop it up or down to rearrange the order.

Below Menu Settings, tick Primary Menu. Then hit Save Menu.

I believe Kyle covers about menu navigation somewhere in course 2.
