Setting up your profile so it represent you, your niche and your business is essential. It is time to forget about using Facebook to keep in touch with Granny and share photos of you as a baby!
Facebook should be an extension of your business, and your profile is your personal brand. The image below shows the 5 areas of your Profile Page which need to be reviewed and set up properly.
1. Your Header Image
If you already have a Facebook group use your header to direct people to your group. You can see on mine it clearly says what the group name is, what it’s about and click here to join. When they click on the image the link to the group is in the comment so they can easily join.
Canva is a great free tool you can use to create Facebook profile headers and the image in your bio. While the sizing in Canva is correct for your profile header (820 x 312) you need to be aware of the safe zone as FB will crop your image for mobile & tablets - see image below:

2. Your Profile Photo
This should be a clear happy close up photo of yourself. People buy from people they know, like and trust. They need to know you are a real person. This doesn’t need to be a professional photo if you don’t have one, but don’t cop out and put a stock image of a puppy or your product.
Correct size for your profile photo is: 320 x 320 pixels
3. Intro
Use this opportunity to create interest about you and what you offer. Don’t put your affiliate link or spammy product promotion. Give people a reason to friend you, let them know what they can expect and put a link to your Facebook group or your website/funnel.
4. Your Bio
Don’t clutter up your bio with anything that is not relevant to your business. Don’t put every school you went too, everywhere you’ve lived, what your full time job is (if it’s not relevant to your online business). Keep it clear and relevant to your business only.
5. Featured Image
Again an opportunity to promote your business. Do up a nice image representing your business or your group. Don’t put up a funny cat photo or you will have missed the opportunity.
The correct dimensions of the Featured Image are: 484 x 252 pixels; recommended size of 1,200 x 628 pixels.
The topics on my profile seem to be different to the ones you have stated here.
I have a header image and my profile photo. Instead of an Intro, I have an About section where there are line items for Overview, Work and Education, Places Lived, Contact and Basic Info, Family and Relationships, Details about me and Life's Events.
Can you advise me how to set this up? I can send you a screenshot via PM if necessary.
Thanks for your help.
Edwin
Due the fact I was cluttering up promotions all over the place I was banned. Yes, I was impatient and tried to take shortcuts and now I need to accept the consequences.
Now I just need to learn properly what posts I should share and how to offer value. I think this is the hardest part...
Also when it comes to making a closed group and use that as a funnel to your email list... I need to learn more about that as well.
You are such an inspiration with your trainings!
Keep up the good work! 😊
I see where I messed. Instead of creating a Facebook group profile, I created a page! Well, that was a while ago.
When you get a chance, please have a look on follow me and advise if I should change anything.
Although my followers are not liking or commenting on my posts; google analytics tells a different story.
I get returning visitors via Facebook with a very low bounceback rate. Which means they do read my content although they don't seem to partake in discussions, or am I wrong?
