After a conversation in the live chat, the subject of using free websites and purchasing your own domains came up. So I thought I'd talk about the subject here and even show you a few resources that can help you build and look after your sites no matter which option you decide to go with.

We'll go through:
  • SiteRubix Websites - Pros and Cons
  • Paid Domains - Where To Buy Them, Nameservers for WA and Pros and Cons
  • Resources to Setup Your Sites - Ones That Work For SiteRubix Sites and Paid Domains
Here is a quick comparison chart to compare the SiteRubix websites with your own domain sites:

So I'll keep this introduction short and we'll just jump straight into it!

No your not screwed but certainly dont put a lot of work into it. Use it as a testing site or just let it expire

No you're not screwed. Like David has said, it can be used for testing purposes. But it's probably worth letting it expire in my opinion.

A great help this training!. Personally I use both. I use the free sites for testing Propurses is much help before running on my own site.

For new users free sites is a great help before you have your own site. can help you your skills to create a site and know how to do it more easily.

The last part 4 links to help us a lot. Thanks again for the info :)

Thanks Jorge. One thing I will add later is that soon there will be a feature where you can transfer your siterubix site across to your own domain. Kyle or Carson will let us know when that feature becomes available.

Your training is awesome though Luke. The icon reminds me of the overly attached girlfriend on youtube ;)
