Now let's get on with the M to R flabby phrases.

51. "Made a decision to" - The noun equivalent of a verb has been used. We made a decision to fly to Seattle. Improved version: We decided to fly to Seattle.

52. "Made an announcement" - Same as #51. She made an announcement of her engagement to Brad Pitt. Improved version: She announced her engagement to Brad Pitt.

53. "Made out of" - It was made out of steel. Improved version: It was made of steel.

54. "Major breakthrough" - Check out this redundant phrase: The product was a major breakthrough in micro technology. Improved version: The product was a breakthrough in micro technology.

55. "Major feat" - Pushing a truck up a hill is a major feat of strength that very few can match. Improved version: Pushing a truck up a hill is a feat few can match.

56. "Meaningful" - Her comment was a meaningful gesture. Improved version: Her comment touched me. (Stronger emotion used)

57. "Meet/met with each other" - Sharon and I met with each other to discuss the business plan. Improved version: Sharon and I met to discuss the business plan.

58. "Merge together" - The two companies merged together at the start of the year. Improved version: At the start of the year, the two companies merged.

59. "Most unique" - She is the most unique person I have ever met. Improved version: She is unique amongst all whom I've met.

60. "Mutual cooperation" - Mutual implies together, cooperating. We need mutual cooperation to achieve the sales targets. Improved version: We need to cooperate to achieve the sales targets.

61. "Never before" - Never before have I been so frightened. Improved version: Never have I been so frightened.

62. "New innovation" - All innovations are new, true? This new innovation will change the market. Improved version: This innovation will change the market.

63. "New invention" - Same as #62. All inventions are new, aren't they?

64. "Now pending" - Your request for vacation is now pending. Improved version: Your vacation request is pending.

65. "Offered a suggestion" - I offered the suggestion about where to eat dinner. Improved version: I suggested a place to eat dinner.

66. "On a regular basis" - This is just flabby. I dine at that restaurant on a regular basis. Improved version: I dine at that restaurant regularly.

67. "Over exaggerate" - Jane is known to over exaggerate often. Improved version: Jane often exaggerates.

68. "Passing fad" - I hope the nude selfie fad on social media is a passing one. Improved version: I hope the nude selfie on social media is a fad.

69. "Period of time" - Kings ruled Britain during that period of time. Improved version: Kings ruled Britain during that period. (during that time, could also fit)

70. "Pick and choose" - Pick and choose your friends wisely. Improved version: Pick your friends wisely. (Some would use, Choose your friends wisely)

71. "Plunge down" - She plunged down into the raging river. Improved version: She plunged into the raging river.

72. "Postpone until later" - Let's postpone until later our dinner date. Improved version: Let's postpone our dinner date.

73. "Raise up" - The doorman raised up the moat's bridge. Improved version: The doorman raised the moat's bridge.

74. "Refer back" - A redundant phrase. I want to refer you back to last year's report. Improved version: I want to refer to last year's report.

75. "Reply back" - She decided to reply back to her ex-boyfriend's email. Improved version: She replied to her ex-boyfriend's email.
