The Facebook Personal Profile is your Facebook Account
It should be a person's name and not represent a business, product or website.
Facebook wants you to use your real name when creating a profile. You should never use a business name for profiles. You may consider using a nick name or variation of your full name, but be aware that facebook could require you to verify who you are with some type of photo id requirements in the future. I know people that have lost accounts because they were not capable of providing proof they were who they claimed to be.
It is actually a facebook violation to setup a personal profile account with a business name. You risk losing all the work you put into gaining friends and marketing your business.
Facebook Profiles seek friends - Increase your interaction on facebook by adding friends through the friend request buttons. Some may choose to only add close friends and family. Some business owners may choose to add anyone and everyone. Remember, the facebook profile is not created to promote the business, the facebook personal profile is created so that you can create pages and groups to promote your business.
Example:
Let's assume "James B Smith" owns a place called "Jim Bob's Bar". If he wanted to start using facebook to market his bar, it is recommended that James sets up a personal profile account with his name first such as "James B Smith" or "James Smith". He should not create the account profile as "Jim Bob's Bar" or even "Jim Bob" because, he could be at risk of account termination in the future.
I realize people do it all the time and may get away with it forever. I have had clients lose their facebook profiles becasue they didn't understand the difference between profiles and pages.
