Hi Paul, liked the presentation, good, clear, concise. Wouldn't change the approach at this stage.
One point I would like to hear your views on please. You have a static front page, and I would be interested to know why you chose this over a blog, if indeed you did? Reason is this. I started my WA site with a static front page, plus a blog, after a lot of research into target audience etc. Didn't get a lot of traffic, and very few click throughs. I discussed with WA and the advice was to change to the blog as the front page so that Google would see a changing, updated site and give it better ranking.

So far I have seen no change in traffic, and I guess this could now lead to the conclusion that either WA is not as tempting to join as I may have thought in the way I have written my content or, it points to the overall quality of my site which needs to improve.

I am not wanting to pitch you against WA but why specifically do you consider the static front page to be the way to go - assuming and this is key, that you do?

Looking forward to your future videos,

Regards,

Hudson.

Hi Hudson. It's a great question and I fully agree with the view that the blog approach is the way to keep Google and any potential readers happy. My reasons for having a static page are two-fold:

Firstly, I knew that this was an experimental site for me, and that I didn't know when I'd be adding further copy. There's nothing which shouts out "dead site" than a blog post at the top of page one dated six months ago. I build and write sites for a living, so this bit wasn't new for me.

Secondly, my intention was always that this site would be used for the promotion of WA alone, hence having my pillar article on the front page. The scam article was an afterthought, and the plan is that when I settle on an as-near-as-damn-it perfect domain name I would reuse both articles in a different form and delete this site. I need to do that this week as I want Google to start indexing the new site ASAP. Either that, or I'll completely restructure this site and devote time and attention to it, in which case a blog is the way to go.

As for your own site, I agree that WA is a harder sell than we might have initially imagined, purely because it looks too good to be true. We both know that it's all we say it is, but I think we ALL need to polish our sales copywriting skills to convince readers that we are honest. In some ways, having a visitor come here and see that we pay for membership works against us if we've been selling the concept on the basis that it's free. I'm still thinking that bit through.

The one thing I'm certain of though, is that there are many people here who are better placed to offer advice on the best way to market affiliate sites. I can write and I know a bit about building sites, but I've learned loads here in just two weeks and still know virtually nothing!

G'day Paul - With due respect to the WA founders, it's great to hear English as she should be spoken! For me, the downside of video tutorials - no matter how well they are presented - is trying to make notes. Either I can't understand what I've scribbled, or, I miss other information during the note taking. Which means multiple viewings... and scribblings.... The retention rate for a rank newbie still learning the WP lingo suffers. So, back to another replay! :) george

Hi George. I agree about the note-taking. In my next one I'll give a warning at the start! Of course, the other route is for me to be better at it, so next time expect absolute clarity! I hope it ends up being helpful.

Without seeing your back end (steady...) I can't really help directly. If you trust me enough to PM me your login details I can help, but that's a big ask I know. I'd like to if I can.
