Adjust the height of your monitor by using telephone books to raise it up. If it is too low or too high you will be making for allot of neck pain, and probably headaches. Find a good chair and keep your extremities as close to 90 degree angles as is reasonably possible. Support your back. Remember you are trying to put your body in neutral positions, as natural as possible.

Hopefully, I have given you some food for thought and some tools to accomplish something that will keep you happily and enthusiastically blogging along.

Now the time you spend at your computer will bring you another level of satisfaction because you won't be walking away from your lessons or work on your blog fatigued or in pain. You are investing in yourself through your monthly or annual membership, devoting hours to your training and blogs. Now why not invest in your comfort and safety? You are going to be so glad that you did!!!

If you have any questions about any of this, need or desire more information (because I have truly only skimmed the surface) then be sure to comment here or send me a PM. I am glad to discuss with you whatever your concern may be.

To your creative genius and the wonderful things you will be bubbling to the surface, I am your friend,

Linda

Thank you Linda. Great training. much appreciated. I do have a bad back at present but not due to the ergonomics.

Thanks for the feedback, Kenny. I expect that its even more important for you to have a good work space where you write and study so as not to complicate an already injured back.

I appreciate you dropping in.

Great training! Back in my cubicle days I had my workstation set up perfectly. Not as easy to do with a small laptop and tablet working on a boat or whatever random location I can get wifi.

Oh yeah... I so get this. Working on a boat or whatever random location and on a laptop or tablet is going to be a VERY big challenge.

Taking a break to look out over the water and to get up and stretch and massage those hands and wrists will help. Let me know how you are doing. The idea is to reduce the tendons from creating inflammation in the carpal tunnel by the constant movement. Give your hands a break now and again is going to help.

Working less hours than most people helps. As ambitious and nice as some other people's goals sound...I wouldn't mind $100k/year, but I don't even need half that to support being a pirate. Freedom and location independence are both worth much more than money. Doing as much as I can on my tablet helps too, because it's much easier to work in a more comfortable position with less strain.
