When it comes to starting a blog, email list building is one of the most wide preached practices. The reason is not far-fetched; amidst content marketing models, email marketing has remained one of the most productive. As such, you need an email list.

There are no strict rules for building an email list, but there are do's and don’ts when it comes to doing it the right way. If you do it the right way, the result is amazing. But if you do it the wrong way, you can spend eternity and not have up to 100 subscribes or build multiple lists of unproductive subscribers.

There are several mistakes people make when building an email list; seven out of this will be our focus in this training.

Good stuff, Ayodeji! Agreed with you that the potential subscriber won't be willing to sign up to your list if they are asked to submit personal information other than their email address. Good job!

Yes Israel,

You are very on point, requesting for too many information kills the process.

It is important we get it right and minimise our request to the barest minimum

thank you

Hey Parameter I am curious about your recommendation that the sidebar may not be useful. I am building a site now so is there any data that you can point me to on this. Thanks

,

I have not said the sidebar is not useful. I tried emphasing on that in the training. But the conversion rate on the sidebar is very poor.

Talking about statistics, below is a link to an AWeber report showing popup performing more than 1300s time the opt-in placed in a side bar.
