Dissecting a Successful Halloween Niche Website
Last Update: October 26, 2013
This tutorial demonstrates what an informational niche website with quality content looks like. It will show you how this niche site uses You Tube, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter for promotion and how it is monetized. It is a good example of what you have been learning at WA.
Haunted Wisconsin was founded in 2000 by Andy and Jenny (my son and daughter-in-law). The site was developed in their spare time while working full time jobs. It started with a passion for Halloween and blossomed into the best Halloween Event Niche site in Wisconsin. Even though it is a seasonal site they work on it all year long. Their success came from hard work and persistence.
In this tutorial I will be explaining the different aspects of the site through visual references and short descriptions.
The site provides a good visual for the things that you are learning at WA and how you can incorporate them on your own sites: Pinterest, You Tube , Facebook and Twitter.
You will see how their brand is coordinated between social networks.
How did they begin? It all started with a passion for Halloween. Jenny always loved fall and Halloween. Not so much the blood and guts, but the color and atmosphere of the season. She loved fall, the colors and Halloween. Andy has a passion for computer programming and graphic design. As a team they created www.hauntedwisconsin.com and kept it growing every year.
