An Internet troll is typically someone who would be a bully in real lofe, though many actually lack the courage to do it offline they still hide behind their computer and fake profiles to make blogger's lives miserable.
Trolls come in all sorts of forms with the singular goal in mind. They want you to blow up and lose control of the conversation. With the most common having just stumbled on your blog your reaction can judge if they become a regular thorn in your side or if they just move on.
This type of troll can be defeated by the simple thasnk you for your feedback or simply ignoring them. Trolls love to be fed anger in return for their anger and hate and if you dismis them they can't gain their satisfaction.

Thanks for sharing. Great advice.
I once read it doesn't hurt to write down your feelings BUT DON'T POST IT! Just get it off your chest, have a cool down period, and then go back and construct a reply as in your example. What you would say in the heat of the moment, you most likely wouldn't say once you peeled yourself off the ceiling and looked at the comment objectively.
