The video above shows how to create a custom Wealthy Affiliate Home Page Link and then how to redirect the Custom Home Page link to a URL.
You don't have to create the page my Friends.
The page has already been created for us by WA, You create the custom link then have the custom link redirected to the URL that you purchase.
The bought domain is so that you link doesn't look like a gaudy referral link .... for example:
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/a_aid/9d8brty5/campaign/sam... <- that is similar to the sample link that I created.
Notice how unattractive that is?
Would you click that?
How about a shortened link like this --> bit.ly/4788nh
Would you click that?
What if it said something like this --> PartTimeWorkOnline.com
Aren't you and/or anyone else more likely to click on that link?

Can I ask what type of strategy could be used to drive traffic to the custom homepage? I ask because you mention not using the original URL for anything other than the re-direct, so not sure how this would work?
I mainly use mine on Instagram my Friend.
I have also created a few Instagram training videos here on WA as well.
