Another great way to generate traffic to your website: creating a press release. This is by far, one of the best ways to get your message out to the masses. Press releases are one of those marketing strategies that has truly survived the test of time. This is because it adapts to change and technological advances. Yes, this art form takes some time to perfect and use effectively, but luckily for you there are some rules you can follow that will produce a killer press release.

As a writer, I have to admit that to churn out a killer piece, you must be at optimum level mentally. This is simply getting mentally jacked up to write about a fantastic website. Go for a run, eat a good breakfast, jump up and down and then get comfortable. You need a quiet location that will be free of distration for about an hour. Do everything you can to get your adrenaline going because we are at our best mentally when in this state. Now, all pumped up you are ready to begin. Get a pen, paper or your laptop and type in the Title.

Thank you. I will try this. Do you put your affiliate link in the press release? Jim

OH yes.... we want them to visit, buy or at least tell a friend about what they have stumbled upon. :-) There are people in Fiverr that will write yours if this seems to be daunting, and Fivers work cheap. Get a price, try them out, see if you get a few sales for your ROI

Well, hmm, at first, I had never heard of a press release before today. Must be a writers jargon. Then, what the heck has to be written in it?

who, what, when, where, why. called the 5-w's. always hated writing them and never thought about it for a website - but it is really genius!

Everything in your new online business... written in the third person. I'm sure there are 'sample' press releases where you can follow the steps.

It does bring traffic because people are interested in being the "first" to hear about this new business. And... they pass the word -- that helps too.

I don't particularly like writing Press Releases, but force myself to do so. Fiverr may help me out this year -- so much going on and now the holidays ahead. They offer to write... I'll get some prices and decide. ;-)
