Follow up is important simply to keep in touch with the people who attended.

If someone became a referral, its important to encourage them and to be available to answer questions.

For those who attended but did not register for the starter program, it is important to contact them to:

  • thank them for attending the meeting.
  • ask them if anything needs to be clarified.
  • inform them of the date of the next meeting.

Follow up is not a means of applying pressure, but rather to develop a relationship if appropriate, and to offer help.

Meetings are time consuming.

  • There is planning and preparation time.
  • It takes time to advertise the meeting.
  • It takes time to arrange for a venue.
  • The meeting itself is usually about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Follow up takes time.

If you enjoy meeting people and feel comfortable talking to groups, meetings can be a great way to offer WA to people for the first time and to support new WAers by answering questions and encouraging referrals.

Very informative Jim. To be honest, I didn't even look at the offline aspect of referring people. Thanks for that.
