Maybe you have a report or a PDF document that you want to give to your visitors who visit your website.

One of the best ways to do this is create a downloadable file for them.

In this short video I'll show you how easy it is to create a text link and an image link for your downloadable file.

Enjoy!

my pdf document exceeds the maximum upload size for my site, what do you do when that happens? I really don't want to make it smaller

Forgive but I don't know what FTP means?

Sorry, it stands for File Transfer Protocol. You can use a free FTP client called Filezilla to transfer files to and from your wordpress site. There are quite a few trainings on how to use Filezilla to perform file transfers. (Note: FTP capability Is only available for personally-owned domains, not siterubix subdomains.)

When you click on a site's "Details" icon, you'll see the FTP username and password. You'll need those to connect to your site with Filezilla.

Sweet and to the point, thanks!!
My question is if I put a link to a document on one of my pages, does that mean the option to save in the visitor's computer always comes up? Is there a way to prevent that if I don't want something available for saving for my visitors?

It's a downloadable file the save option will always appear. If you don't want people to save anything you can't have a downloadable link.

What makes it downloadable?

Because the link is connected to the file. It's not like a link to a page or a post.

If you want to share something your visitors but not have it available for download - simply put whatever it is you want to share on a page just like you do with any other content and have a link to that page.

If you don't want people to copy any of the content - then install a plugin that prevents content theft.

I remember someone here posted about such a plug in, it's a great idea, I will have to go look for it.

Used to be a hassle of using landing pages and Aweber to accomplish this which always confused me. This is simple and easy. Thanks a million Leo. Keep your training coming. Love it.

Good stuff. I wish I knew all the things you do about video, SEO, training, tutorals. Wow! I see so many utube video's which just crawl along and you get so tired of sitting there going in slow motion! Better to be fast, and then poeple can click pause! :)

Thanks.

Yeah I can't stand videos that drag on and on - that's why I try and make my videos a short as possible.

For me it's get to the point show me what I need to know and call it a day.
