Thank you for guiding me through the process of this as my new business avenue. I really appreciate it Kyle!!
I just do not know how to choose my Niche before building this website. I have been in the health, fitness & healing for the last 30 years and I want to promote what I know and product that will help,, Any idea ?

My suggestion would be to pick a specific area in your field and target that with your website. A niche is usually a targeted area of expertise that targets a specific audience, like "health and healing for those over 50", or "Weight loss for women after pregnancy" or something like that. The point being is that it targets a certain audience. Hope this helps u some.

I set up my website with the siterubix domain and am putting content on it, but want to change the domain as soon as I go premium. Would I be able to easily transfer my site and all the information over to my purchased domain when I go premium? Or would I need to create a new site, copy/paste everything and wait for Google to index my new site?
Reply

You'll be able to transfer your siterubix to a premium domain no problem. You shouldn't have to copy/paste anything. It basically just redirects your siterubix site to your .com domain.

See if this video helps

Yeah, we actually have a "Move" feature that you will see right within the SiteManager.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

You can move any domain to any domain hosted here at WA. For example, if you wanted to move your Siterubix website to a domain that you have purchased, then it is a very simple process.

The "Move" feature also handles for all proper redirects and SEO, it will transfer your site in its entirety and it is as simple as a few clicks. See attached screenshot for what I am referring to here.

I want to promote a hot product. Obviously, I need to include the product title when naming my domain/website, right? How to know in advance if they have an affiliate program?

Also, make a contract with them, Arrange commissions,Etc?

How to add their link or banner to my site?
Reply
VitaliyG Premium
I would not target one product and name your domain after that. that is an old school tactic which is not good anymore, target the niche and review the product as a part of your content within it. In short, just follow the training :)
Reply
jmartens777 Premium
Look up the company website. A lot of websites will have a link to their affiliate program hidden towards the bottom of their webpage.

If you can't find their affiliate program, then contact the website owner or their support team, and they should let you know. Most affiliate programs already have a commission % set-up , so you shouldn't have to negotiate.

If they have an affiliate program, look to see if they have an affiliate "tools" or "promo" page.

Make sure you are signed up as an affiliate before you start promoting their product or program, or you will not make any commissions.

They often will have banners with html code, which you can then copy and past into your side bar widget, or wherever you want on your webpage, with your affiliate link embedded in it. Make sure your affiliate link is in the html code so you get credit for it.

Oh, I see now..It seems also that this allows for one to promote other similar products, Relevant to one's niche

Yeah, I need to back up a little and review the previous lessons.

I wish you would set this up, like the books that say bla, bla for dummies. Doing this on a library computer is restrictive (can't bring up my testimonial video's). Choosing the website theme is difficult. I can't tell from the demos what the website will look like and how it will be to use it.

I'll make the best guess possible at this point but I'm wondering if there's a further way to see any of them in action.

It usually looks fairly similar to what you see in the demo, but all websites start outas a "blank shell" and then as you add content to it you are going to see the overall design of your website take shape.

what area of travel? U need to narrow it down a little more, like vacation packages to some area, or traveling the world tips, or tips on travelling in a car or RVing across country, something like that. U start small then expand to more areas as u gain authority with your site. Just travel is pretty broad, but what about thehappytraveller.siterubix.com or onestoptravelshop.siterubux.com or yourtravelstop.siterubix.com. Hard to really come up with something if I do not know what u r going to do in travel.

I have a website on shopify, my question is can I build out an ecommerce store here using the free domain (I would want to test it out first since it is a different platform), then after I upgrade to premium, move my domain here then use that "move" button to move the whole site to my transferred domain?
Reply
ridesisapis Premium
You can certainly create a site using an ecommerce theme and install Woocommerce etc but you probably won't be able to test it as the free sites aren't SSL enabled.

You will be able to point your already registered domain name to your free site on SiteRubix and it will be moved to that domain name within SiteRubix when you do that.

Hi there!

I'm finally starting to dedícate more time to WA. I'm at lesson 4 of the "Getting Started" and I've created a website as told by Kyle in his video. However, after doing so I've noticed the following:

- In the website details of Kyle's video, under SitePlus+, he has 3 points: SiteSpeed, SiteSSL and SiteProtect.
- In my website details, under the same section, there are only 2: SiteSSL and SiteProtect. SiteSpeed is missing.

Is this ok? Did I do anything wrong? Shouln't the 3 points be there?

Thank you all in advance.

Should we be concerned about LLCs or state sales tax for these websites?
I am not very knowledgeable about technology so I will probably be asking a lot of questions so any help would be appreciated. The video helped me understand the process it's the details I may need held with.

I'm not a lawyer or CPA and so this isn't legal or financial advice. A lot of states and localities require that if you are engaged in a business that you register for a sales tax license and submit sales tax returns. Whether or not you have to pay sales tax(or whatever it may be called in your state) on affiliate commissions is an entirely different issue. If you didn't want to research and/or consult with a professional, yet still be on the safe side, you could just pay the sales tax on any of your earnings. Easy, but you might be over paying your taxes. LLC's could be useful from limiting you legal exposure and protecting personal assets, but you don't need one. You could run as a sole prop if you wanted to. It's really up to you though.
Reply
Gunnertwist Premium
I to am not a lawyer or CPA by any means at all, but I did just wanted to add to ThomasPaul's post, if u are associated with someone like Amazon as an affiliate member, they will send u a 1099 each year for the commissions that u earn. This is pretty common for most USA based affiliate programs, I believe. I am not sure about companies outside of USA. Someone can correct me if I am wrong please. Hope this helps a little.

Carl
Reply
joy4life Premium
I'm not lawyer or a CPA, but I believe that since you are earning a commission as an affiliate marketer, rather than directly selling products, it's not up to you to collect or pay sales tax. The IRS 1099 form will show the income which you will have to declare and pay income tax on. You will get a 1099 form because there will be nothing withheld from the income from your affiliate partners. You may want to pay estimated taxes quarterly on this income so you won't owe a bunch of money next year on tax day. It depends on how successful you become as to whether paying income tax for a whole year in one fell swoop becomes a problem. LOL

As you go through the lessons, you will learn how to build all of those types of sites. You can sell products and affiliate products at the same time. Word Press is a blogging tool so you will always have a page when you can write reviews, add your thought and you niche. You invites into the products is part of what gets people to your site and then educates them to buy.

Something to keep in mind if you are not yet a premium member, like myself. If you try to change your theme after it is initially chosen, dashboard only gives you 3 other themes to change too, instead of the 12 you saw when first choosing. As I wasn't happy with any of them, I ended up deleting my page and starting over so when you first choose your theme try to ensure it is the one you want! Happy building!
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yeah, that is because it is very intensive to load 12 themes (install them all) with every site, it wouldn't make sense. You can always delete a site and then rebuild it using a new them or use one of your other free websites if you are still a Starter member.

Hope this helps you out here!

I open my website while watching one of your tutorial videos and I saw you click a icon in the upper right corner and from there you work on your picture, in the picture, you had on a brown T-shirt, and you brought it to size and fit it into your website . You said the site was new so it was for demonstration it has no content yet. I could not add a image to my website then as that Icon is not on my website.

I did something the other day that i probably shouldn't have done. After watching the lesson on how to build your website and pick your domain name, I made the mistake of Googling my niche. I saw that there were tons of websites that were doing close to the same thing that I was doing and got very discouraged. I spent all day yesterday thinking about whether or not I wanted to continue doing this.

Today I feel a bit better but not completely. I decided that am going to continue and NOT do that again. I trust that the people here have felt the same in the past.

With the Premium account, can I create a store type website with a shopping cart, etc? Can I build an algorithm within my website (I think that's what I mean, for example: a page on my site where a person could enter a city, state/zip code and be given the name of the closest airport)? Or are all the websites, through WA, blog based?

All the websites at WA are Wordpress - you have no access to cPanel technology, so unless you can find a plug-in (or program a plug-in) to provide the functionality you seek, it's not possible.

Shopping carts are available, however, payment processing will not be functional until WA provides SSL (coming soon).

Success!

I got a site created specifically to promote Wealthy Affiliate. Its name is "AmazingResultsWithAffiliateMarketing.com"

Now to continue with the process to improve its health, which at this point in time is "poor",very poor.

We will do this by performing those actions which will improve its metrics, as explained by Kyle, which will improve its Health (rankings). This should be the goal of any site manager.
:
The metrics:
Publishing Frequency
Visitor Engagement
Plugins (not too many)
Content quality and variety (who and how are they judging
content quaity?)
Your engagement with visitors
Site trust (apparently, the search engines have to develop trust in your site--- sobering. Are we talking Artificial Intelligence here?
Website feedback

I think I am getting the hang of this.

1- I am not familiar yet with the design of a Website on my domain. But do I need a website to start my promotion campaign? Will I need one ever with WA?
2- Can I get Traffic/Subscribers without a Website?
Do I need to be on Premium before getting help on generating Traffic?
3- Can I send e-mails but not using my actual name, i.e. maybe using so called Pen Name? How can I do it without informing the subscriber, and without losing commission?

I am looking forward to receiving your responses to the above.

I would recommend to you to become premium before you try to figure out all these things any further. You'll get all of the answers in the next 30 lessons :)
I would like that I can help you, but I am still learning as well.
Let's try to help with what I might know:
1 - You need a site
2 - You can't get traffic subscribers w/out the website
3 - I am not sure, I think yes, but you will still need your site so that you have where to invite people

I hope this helps :)

Hey Kyle, I'm still struggling on finding my niche for my website. I was thinking about making it about hair care and how to retain length and promote products from other people that also help to grow your hair. Should i use this as my niche. I love talking about hair and helping people with hair and scalp problems.

Hair care is too broad.
Retaining hair length won't work. Only 8 Monthly Searches.
How can you help others? Think about what you would Google. Be really specific.
Then, use the WA Keyword Tool or Jaaxy.com to research. You want at least 50 Monthly Searches and a QSR at 300 or less.
Let us know, if you still need help.

Is it possible to download this video to upload it to a page on my website?
Or else, I guess I can put a link on my page that redirect here to the video page, right? It sounds good, but the drawback I see is that everyone who click on my link first have to open the account in WA for access to watch the video...

The latter is the most recommended way because you can’t download the video or any WA videos and upload it to your website.

This video is available and can be watched by everyone, including non WA members without having to create an account first. To know if it’s available or not, copy and paste the URL into a new browser or you can just log out.

You can make it look sort of like the video is on your page by taking a screenshot of the video portion of this page and putting that picture on your page. Then add the affiliate link to that picture so, when someone clicks on it, it takes them to the video here.

That´s a very good idea DH! So when someone clicks and lands on this video page, and enjoy it, maybe then open an account and i get the credit... :)

Hey, are some of the themes that seem more ''flashy'' going to interfere with SEO stuff. I have heard that some themes and macromedia flash type stuff is not very spider friendly. I picked one theme that was normal, but another that LOOKED like some macromedia type stuff. How true is this?
