Copyscape Pricing
Copyscape offers a free version that has limits on the number of scans for a particular website. Also, the free account is entitled to a maximum of 20 checks per day for comparison tool.
In order to use Copyscape Premium, a minimum payment of $5 is required. And it is from this money that payments will be made every time you perform a search scan.
A search credit costs $0.05 while a single credit is enough to cover the cost of scanning a portion of text.
The cost of using Copyscape is nothing compared to what duplicate texts will cost you. That's why it is best practice to perform a search scan on your content before you publish them.
A Word for Writers
When doing a search on Copyscape, avoid posting large chunks of text. But instead, break them down into smaller units to allow you to get the best out of Copyscape.
You can break the texts into groups of 500 words to make your search more effective. I've seen situations when Copyscape discovered duplicate texts, which occurred in the same text I posted.
You should also ensure to use Copyscape on any piece of content before submitting it to a client. It is better to submit content you have scanned than let the client do the search. That will give you the opportunity to clean up your work before handing it over to your client.
Conclusion
As a writer, it is essential that every piece of your content is original. And in order to protect your content, you should use Copyscape.
Copyscape can be used to scan the web for duplicate portions of your text, or website. It can be used to scan content by posting the URL of your content into Copyscape. The free version of Copyscape allows you to do a scan this way.
However, if you have a Copyscape Premium account, you can post the text directly into Copyscape. It charges a very minimal fee for searches that are performed this way.
As writers, it is best practice to perform these scans to ensure there are no duplicate copies of your work. If you do not yet have an account with Copyscape, you should sign up for one right away.
I didn't even know that such software existed.
I guess Copyscape will even locate one own duplicate articles in FB, Youtube, and other social media. I have duplicate content in FB, Youtube, twitter.
I guess that it will find duplicates somewhere. Probably, it is impossible to avoid partial content duplicates.
For example: The animal and/or pet/dog niche. There are hundreds of blogs in this niche. I have found many with almost the same content. All seem original, but saying the same thing.
How can I avoid duplicating something that there seems to be no other way to say it?
Blessings.
