Send to trash all unsolicited, unwanted, repetitive, superficial or not interesting mail. Don’t procrastinate in doing this to read later in case you can find some value there. You know exactly what kind of emails are of no value, so instead of keeping it for later unsubscribe if possible your account for upcoming notifications.

Sorting the emails by sender instead of date make the action of dropping emails faster and funnier.

This step should release around 20-30 % of your inbox.
