Qualities of an Ideal Plagiarism Checker Tool

1. You should look for the plagiarism checker software that can keep your work safe and secure. Several plagiarism checkers in the market today literally store your work in their database and you risk it being used at some other time by the software.

While you still hold the copyright for your work, they may claim that you granted them access to do as they wish with the work you uploaded for a check. Really, many people do not read the terms and conditions before accepting them.

2. A good plagiarism checker tool should be able to support different file formats such as HTML, Doc, Docx, RTF, txt, or pdf. Users should be allowed to upload such files directly to the checker without the need to first convert them from one format to another.

3. It should be easy for anyone to run checks and the software should give detailed results of the checks as well as references for plagiarized work.

The information in the report should be easy to read and clear to understand.

4. It should be to give a detailed report of its findings in clear language and accurate percentages according to the matches made and their sources and should also detect citations and references.

The software should use colors to highlight matches and also take note of identified problems such as bad quotes.

5. The results of the checks should be easy to download, so you can share them with appropriate personalities.

Let us take a look at some popular and commonly-used plagiarism checker tools that are available in the market.

I would never have thought of this Israel. I just assumed if I'm writing my own content that I wouldn't need something like this.

So, are you saying that even if I write my own content to double check still with a separate software e.g. Grammarly?

I really appreciate the training.

Exactly, Louise! Even if you originally wrote the article yourself, you still must run plagiarism checks thoroughly before hitting the Publish button; otherwise, you'll risk your site of getting penalized for duplicate content by Google. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, Israel

I use Grammarly and it is very useful. I tried duplichecker, but ran back to Grammarly.

Writing content without a robust plagiarism checker is not the best
