(2) How to choose your domain name
(3) How to choose a website name
(4) How to choose a theme and what to look for
(5) How to access your administration details

Hi! I am confused about the domain name that has wwwwebsitenamesiterubixcom added to it. I know you can buy your own domain name and it will look like wwwdomainnamecom but let's just say I used the former and while I'm using it someone actually registers the name I am using. Will I be informed and do I have to change the website name?

If someone registers a .com or. net for the name that you are using under .siterubix.com, you will not be notified until you try to set up that name. It will tell you its taken. You don't have to change your site rubix name if this happens because siterubix.com is a 3 rd party name.

Thank you! just to clarify if I set up a siterubix and someone registers the com or net name a week or month after I've set it up I do not have to change it. I just wanted to make sure. Appreciate the response.

A siterubix name is not registered. If you pick a name with siterubix after it, you can set up a website using that name. If someone sees your site, and decides to steal your name, all they have to do is go to the domains and purchase it. Your site will still run under the siterubix and their site will run under the dot com. You will not be notified. You will not have to change your siterubix, but you will not be able to get the dot com domain if someone else purchases it first.

My advice: If you have a domain name that is available, you would be wise to go ahead and purchase it. It will be about $15 for the year. I know sometimes it is hard to come up with the extra cash, but maybe you could give up a couple cups of coffee, or something else. Just review your spending, and see if you can buy the domain. If someone buys a domain, they "own" it for a year. If they make the yearly payments, they own it indefinitely. Don't think you can buy it later. You possibly could, but most people renew their domains yearly. Good luck with your decision. Take Care. Connie

Here we go! I've set up websites before, but they never looked that great. I didn't really know how to make them look and perform any better, either. I'm pretty stoked about this, since we get an actual walk-through with the video and a much better support system than what I've had in the past. Awesome!

Jump in with both feet! The training here is superb and the community is always willing and able to help if you get stuck. Be sure to ask for help if you need it! I am technically challenged, and I managed to set up 3 websites and my husband and I are working on a couple of others. We are so impressed at this point. Our sites have been indexed and are starting to receive traffic. We cannot wait to see what the future here holds for us. Good Luck and Take Care. Connie

Hello Kyle; I watch your videos repeatedly. I am a Premium member. Yes, the Domain name and the website name is up.

When I confirm the website and it says log in to your website I cannot login. Instruction is: enable the cookies in order to login.

Kyle, I know nothing about Cookies. There is nothing there showing cookies or step to take to enable or disable cookies so that have me stuck.

On the other hand, on the first Page where there is: Hello World and write your comment. It says: this is your first post. edit or delete it, then start writing.

One thought on "Hello World" to get started with moderating, editing and deleting comments, visit the Comment screen in the dashboard.

The dashboard cannot be reach from this juncture. Therefore I can neither delete nor edit, nor start writing anything.

Can you build a website and just run articles on it and have all the services etc linked to another website who actually has the business up and running? Is that Affiliating yourself? For example the niche I am thinking of doing is art rental - renting prints or original artwork to offices, private clients, events etc. I can't actually provide this service at the moment so can I build my website to link to these other sites who can? So my site I guess would be an informative site and a place to go to find recommended art rental and sales companies?

Still in the process of whittling it down and learning exactly what is it I need to do and how to direct everything.

Look forward to your advise,
Thank you
Sophie

interesting idea sophie, you need to find out how to monetise it
does the website you are thinking of linking to have an affiliate program? if not on the site - try talking to them.
you will be working in a different market than most of us
we are mainy in b2c ( business to customer ) rather than b2b (business to business) you will need to look into the marketing for this as it differs.
good luck with what you choose

I could not figure out a Niche so I went to the Bootcamp. I only got so far and have switched back because I don't know how to explain WA without having succeeded in WA. Back to the drawing board! Also, frustrating that I am only getting here in limited amounts of time. I do wish there was a way to do this while I am walking as my jobs are sedentary and I really need physical activity!

No worries, Ranaye, as long as you come in regularly. How regular depends on your availability. This is the beauty of online business, you can work on it at your convenience. As you go along you become well-versed and you get the hang of it, you get better in what you do here. So keep moving on. You will definitely make it to the top!

Hi

Yes, in Bootcamp, one can find alot of info on finding your niche, if you are to promote WA.

Its a learning process really. What you can do, is to promote whatever you have learnt and mastered so far on WA on your website in the form of posts/blog. It could be like a diary of your journey through WA where you could update daily. You could also do some research on the niche you have chosen and add posts on that too.

Hope this helps

Best of luck

So why would I need 50 web sites? What is the purpose? Are there tracking apps for that many sites. How would I get my affiliate sites into my free web site. I would like to do a site on Designer bags for men and women. I would like to do something specifically for Valentine's day, how would that work? Do these web sites capture e-mails?? Please advise.
Reply

No you don't need 50. This is optional. You can have up to 50 websitese here in WA. If you don't need, just have one (or two). That's completely fine.

You have so many questions here, ma'am. Better follow certification courses step by step and your questions will be answered in the process (like collecting emails - you have to set it up in the first place).

You don't need 50 Websites to turn your passion into revenue.. Any niche is good and you could build a website for Designer bags is it is what you have in mind...So go ahead and build a website..Good luck...

I'm a little confused... can you use a domain name you purchased through WA for your site if you are a free member? Because it says free members can buy them but only Premium members can host their own domain?

It just seems strange to give free members the option to buy one if they can't use it here....

Also, what is the difference between the regular comment feature on the site and the Site Comments feature available with Premium?

Quick question. I have a domain name I want to use but still have a free membership with WA. If I build a site now, can I transfer it over later to my domain name or must I first upgrade so that I build it under that domain name initially? Thanks, PJ
Reply

Looks like that's the "Move" feature. My concern is that if I build it with SiteRubix with their domain name, I don't want to waste that effort when I become Premium member. Want to move it to my domain name--one I already own. Am I right in understanding that I just use the "Move" feature to do that after upgrading?
Reply

Hey Joel,

Great question!
Absolutely, you can move your sites.

1) Free membership - 2 Free Websites in siterubix sub-domain to get you started
2) Premium membership - 25 custom & 25 sub-domain sites + ability to move your sites

Moving your sites is incredibly easy, SiteRubix covers all the technical aspects.
You can move your sites whenever you want & as many times as you want..
..IN or OUT of Wealthy Affiliate..

PS!
You can also transfer your domains to WA - The only requirement is that you buy 1 year worth of domain subscription in advance.

The biggest benefit of having your domain in WA is that this price you pay for your domain won't ramp up - It stays constantly the same.
That makes WA one of the best domain registrars available online.

I hope this gives you some new ideas (:

Henry

I'm new, but if i understand correctly, you own the site, so as long as your content isn't questionable you can cross reference sites you currently host outside of WA. WA just gives a platform to build more... so really you can cross promote your WA sites on the one you're building too... as long as you find he balance on the spam front. If the searches deem your links overused, you could be flagged as a spammer and it will reflect in your rankings

What happens If I build a site on WA with site rubix and choose a premium theme, and after some time, I decide to freeze payments for 1 or 2 months? will the site still be available to me? will i still have access to the WP dashboard? will the site be available online?

You will not have access to the site if you discontinue your membership. You will have 30 days to find alternate hosting, during which time your site will be available on the Internet, but not available for management (aka, move your site before your membership expires).

To get credit you need your affiliate links. You can find those by clicking on the airplane above and go to "links and tracking" Your affiliate links are there.

When you choose to make a change and request a sub domain to be changed to your own domain are the contents of the site migrated to A new site installed on the purchased URL for you by WA or does WA redirect the purchased URL with forwarding and masking towards the already established sub domain on siterubix?

Also, is there a fee to make this change?

Thanks in advance for your response.

My question is (from info below) If I use say 5 domains, do I have to pay $12 - $15 per year for each domain? And if this is the case, wouldnt I be better to use 5 of the free siterubix sites instead of paying for each Domain?

Remember, Google likes ROOT site better than Sub-domain Sites. ie: MYSITE.com vs Yoursite.MYSITE.com. It gives more weight to the MYSITE than the Yoursite (the subdomain).

So, remember that as far as google indexing and "liking" your site, it would be advantageous to purchase your domain as opposed to using the free sites.

I was thinking of making a site about English literature, like ways to improve writing, or classic English books, but I'm unsure where that is headed.
I think that I am having trouble narrowing that niche, so I'm considering having my first site focus on a hobby I recently picked up.
What it is is I turn paper into mulch using water and then I drain a lot of it and add glue so it is similar to a clay only slightly different. It is basically paper mache but mulch instead of strips of paper. Is that something I could do?
(*edit: I decided to start a site about the paper and called it paper sculptures, now I need to figure out what I want to say about it and find out if there are affiliates and stuff)

So to start out, should I use one of the 2 free websites whether than my premium websites? I've been needing to to get my website built for my farm and goats, but from what I'm understanding that's to broad a spectrum right now, or more like promoting my own product. I might even actually already have a domain name for it, I really can't remember and would have top try and look it up, and for my book stos, it also spins off my herd, so I would rather both those be something that is definetely my own domain, and that is something that I already have lots of my own content for that had been pending and in my list of getting things done. But in order to start simple should I go with a premium site on just a subject I'm interested in and wait on my own domain name until I get the hang of it?

the hosting is one of the most secure that you can find. WA security has been upgraded to fully protect your site.

However, if you are actually transacting sales on your site, you will probably want a https domain. (Not yet available on WA but may be in the future). WooCommerce Plugin provides a good solution for that if you are interested in selling on your site.

If I am not mistaking - we now get 25 Free Site Rubix Websites and 25 Custom Domain Websites as Premium members, isn' it? I need to be sure if we are still getting unlimited number of free websites and can host unlimited own domain websites at WA as Premium members. This is important, especially for us who are promoting WA. I would appreciate if this could be clarified. Thanks in advance Kyle.

Just finished watching the website building video and have a question concerning themes and the Site Rubix platform. If I already own a theme that I purchased for building book author sites, will my theme work with a WordPress site created using Site Rubix. I previously used this theme prior to joining WA when I manually installed WordPress myself on my own domains and it worked fine. Guess what I am wondering is whether or not the WordPress installed using Site Rubix would be the same WordPress as one would install using the website creation tools provided by a hosting company such as HostGator? Hope this makes sense?

My qts is whats the difference between Transferring domains to WA and Pointing domains to WA.

And what are the limitations pertaining to one or the other.

If i transfer a domain to WA, later on can i move the entire website along with domain to another domain registrar?,and hosting.??

Kyle was pretty thorough, in his discussion of website creation, but I still have to study it further. I've, been concentrating on developing my niche while testing out my keyword and keyword phrases, in order to see whether I have gold or not.

This, I feel, will eventually give me an added edge. I'm referring to when it comes time to begin building my foundation (website). I'm still researching some ideas for it, while thinking about what I can blog about (content wise) after I'm done sharpening in on a solid niche.

All in all, it's very challenging stuff, and there is some good instruction going on in Kyle's lesson presentation, "concerning the how too s." Thanks Kyle.

As long as your content is helpful and informative to people in your niche, then you should be good! I know Kyle mentions many times that you don't necessarily need to be a great writer to make amazing content on your website :)

Just as an idea, you can possibly interview people involved in your niche to gain further insight on what they do exactly, and this will allow you to create a very informative blog post that your audience will find interesting to read. Here's a link to an article on how to do an Interview Blog Post http://bit.ly/23GSF8t

I clicked on a few that had a warning message at the top saying that the template had not been updated in 2 years or more and may not be supported by the current version of Wordpress. I suggest checking the Details of a template you like before you set up your website so that you can make sure you're not using an outdated theme.

This seems like it's going to be really simple. I haven't taken a look at it yet as I know I'm going to take a lot of time with it and I'm on a little bit of a schedule today. How quickly is this website going to be searchable? I'm not sure I want someone coming across the website when I have too much left to do with it.
Reply

Hi, Kelli!

Your website will technically be searchable soon after it is created, but it will take about a week to be indexed in Google. However, it will be so far down in the search results it is doubtful anyone would find it in the search results.

I wouldn't be concerned about it.

As you progress through the training, you'll learn what you need to do to get your website ranked high in the search engines. Until you do those things, no one will see your website unless you give them the URL.

If you work on a page or a post as a draft and do not publish it, it will not be visible, but really, don't worry about anyone seeing your website until you take deliberate action to make it easy to find in the search engines.

Of course, you can! You might as well find the best one that suits your taste while you are at the early stage. Changing themes affect your lay out and it's going to be lots of work when you have to readjust some of the appearances of your pages, posts, and everything there is to your website. Pro versions are great as it enables you to customize better and there are more features to it. Enjoy!

Hi folks, Loving WA...and yes i am going PREMIUM very very soon. I have a few questions and i hope they dont sound too stupid...here goes...

1. When i am updating / creating my website can i edit/view/edit/view etc etc without it going live (i.e preview the site off line so to speak) as i will probably changing a lot till i get it looking and flowing correctly?

2. Lets say i start with siterubix for a month or two and i have traffic/subscrbers/customers etc. will they automatically be directed to my new domain name at dot com? i know the change over will be seamless but i just want to know if i will have to tell them all or if the links that they use will automatically change (hope it makes sense)?

3. God forbid and i dont think there is a hope in hells chance of my next question happening but it did cross my mind.....what happens to my website and content etc.......if the hosting part of WA was to ever disappear? there i said it ....SORRY but i had to ask......

It's me again. I am here a lot. I'm sure others will comment as well but...

1 It will take a while for your site to go live anyway. It takes google a couple weeks to get your site indexed. Until then you should write content and do as the training suggest. As Kyle says there is no perfect content and you can always go back and edit and make changes later. 6 months in and I'm still making changes.

2. Yes, when you go from siterubix to your own domain, everything will redirect. You don't need to do anything.

3. It could happen but you will learn from newbie mistakes and back up your site on your computer and some suggest to back up your entire site with a plug in. I have heard people lose their site here and the question was always asked Did you backup your site? Make sure you do.

If I recently purchased a domain on Domaincheap. Am I able to use it here at WA right away for my first site? I understand you have to be a premium member for that. I Guess what I'm asking is, will Domaincheap let me use it here right away after purchase or would I have to have it on their registrar for some time before I can use it here on WA? I just recall reading something with some people having some sort of similar issue, but not sure if it was the same case or something completely different. Also can I purchase a domain here at WA as Premium member? Please advise.. Thanks!

Cheers!

Hey Omar,

As a premium member of WA, you can use any purchased domain from any source. Since you purchased it from Namecheap, simply point the domain nameservers to:

NS1.MYWAHOSTING.COM
NS2.MYWAHOSTING.COM

This will give you hosting for that domain.

After you have content on your site, you will apply to affiliate programs, once accepted, you`ll put their products (with your affiliate link) on your site, if anyone buys a product through your affiliate link, you get a commission.
Does this answer your question or do you need more help?

Hi roamy if you are not good at writing content you can try fivver.com where you start out paying $5. For just about any service until you are able to write great content on your own. You can also visit other people's websites in your niche and see the style of their content and bring your personal style into your content.

Excellent video. I like the SiteRubix tools particularly. I have a couple of questions on what is the best way to manage the build process.

I am intending to build/improve websites for other people. The other “person” may or may not have an existing domain and they may have the site hosted by another provider. In the case where the other person already has a domain name and a hosting server things become complicated.

My ideas on approaching this would be to:

1. build and test the site initially on siteRubix;
2. point their domain name to the SiteRubix hosting service;
3. do the SEO work to finalise the content and increase rankings;
4. ftp the WP files over to the third party’s server;
5. delete the site from SiteRubix.

a) Is this what people normally do?
b) Can you see any flaws in this approach?
c) Presumably, there is no point in doing any SEO work whilst the site is a subdomain of SiteRubix?
d) Is it ok to do the SEO work whilst the server is SiteRubix (assuming the domain is pointing to the SiteRubix server?
e) Can everything be bundled up on SiteRubix and ftp’d to the other person’s server?

Sorry to ask so many questions but it all seems so simple if you are just setting up your own website. When it comes to other peoples, everything gets a little bit more hairy.

Hi Chris,
I have not moved sites out of WA. In fact I am encourage people to host in WA, especially if you are going to administer or support their site. All mine and friends of mine are hosted in WA.

And with Siterubix, it is indeed very easy to manage all these sites.

I suggest you do the SEO work in Siterubix and migrate. In fact you site can get index while in Siterubix.

See other reference below that may help, and look up more in the WA discussion/help panel. Many info here. Hope this helps,

Thanks,
Jack
