Hey Pedro,

You are a genius mister, and Thank YOU for sharing this with us!

For the purpose of clarity... do I HAVE to have tags on my posts in order to use this option, or can I simply use the categories only?

Hi :P

You can use categories only or categories + tags to filter even deeper on each "LOOP" that you insert on the category custom pages.

And thank you for your kind words ;)

Glad you liked it!

Cheers

V kool, thanks Pedro. This is great, I have one fairly new website where this could work quite well. A nice informal presentation, thanks.

Hi Stephen!

Good idea. This is easier to implement on a new website, with less content.

Just make sure to identify your main keywords and avoid using the same slug on your custom silo pages that you use on your categories.

The reason is that if you set up your SEO plugin / any other plugin to strip the "category" from the slug, you might get a URL conflict.

A good thing is to create a dummy website and test it out first!

Cheers

I can definitely see the tremendous opportunity the plugin offers for creating siloed internal links to improve user experience and SEO!

Thanks, Pedro! I'll certainly take a closer look. 😊

Actually, you might not even need the plugin!

If you have rank math (SEO plugin), you can use it to redirect from the categories to the custom pages.

But since it's a paid plugin, I wanted to provide a free option to these good people!

What really matters is the process:

» creating custom pages to link to with a highly relevant keyword (so that you can anchor text link from any post to the "silo page keyword")

» use Gutenberg's loop to filter posts per category and or tags

» leverage generate blocks (free plugin) & build a great user experience, easy to read category custom pages

If done properly, this will boost keyword relevancy plus time on site for sure.

Cheers

Thanks, Pedro

I already use GeneratePress Pro and GenerateBlocks Pro.

What I need to do is take a closer look at the "loop" function in the Block Editor.

Thanks Again, 😊
