One of the tools that i use when doing my keyword research is wordtracker and googlekeyword research tool which gives the average monthly search counts(cool). Both of these tools are free and are apparantly the best.

No mater what tools you use, you are going to look for three attributes in a keyword. two of which can be found with the tools is have just mentioned.HERE ARE THE ATTRIBUTES YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR IN KEYWORDS.

1. They get over 6000 searches a month and that is more than 200 searches a day( obviously the higher the better) this is my criterion you can use the one you preffer and are confident with. As much as keyword research is about the technique you also need to be sure of yourself. Google keyword research and wordtracker can show you the search volume.

2. They should have less than 100,000 competing pages(the fewer the better) just make sure you don't choose a keyword withour any market preferrence. You can determine the page count by doing a search for the keyword in Google with quotes around it "your keyword here"

3. They have some kind of value to the advertiser. ( Anything that can be bought and sold has value, anything that has commisssion has value). Some keywords have value more than others.

The above numbers are guidelines and definately aren't hard rules. I would stick to them until you get confident enough to go for bigger keywords. That way you will know that you are going after something that has potential for you while you build confidence and knowledge of your own.

Also when you are choosing a keyword try to find something that a "tech savvy" person wouldn't think of. Even make money with clickbank as an affiliate has alot more competition than most keywords and finding one that has less competition would make your life 100 times alot more easier. Try picture a small 15 year old or a 70 year old grandpa. In order to comeup with things they would search for. What would they search for on a daily basis.

Also getting out of the tech/internet world will not only lessen your competition. It will also increase your conversion.

People that aren't as tech-savvy will click ads much more than people that know what the ads are. You may be able to get 10-20% click-through on ads instead of

This is a great article too, or should I say, tutorial. WordPress is beyond my comprehension right now, but I know I need to get serious about it. Thanks again! John
