Things you need to prepare for account registration:

  • Business name and address
  • Mobile or Telephone number
  • Credit card
  • Tax information

You can set up either a personal or business account. There are pros and cons to both.

Perosnal account pros:

  • Set up your seller account using your personal data is the easiest and fastest way
  • Use only your personal information
  • No extra work needed

Personal account cons:

  • Not professinal
  • Difficult to communicate with suppliers
  • Tax docuement binds to your personal tax ID

Business account pros:

  • Professinal
  • Easy to communicate with suppliers
  • The account is permenant

    Business account cons:

    • Setting up your business takes time and can slow you down
    • Therea are costs associated with setting up your LLC or Corp
    • Nee to apply for an business bank account

    Which account will you choose:

    • Take the path of the least resistance
    • If you have any dubts, go ahead and set up a personal account
    • If you have an existing business, use it
    • Don't overanalyze the account type, they do not matter. You can always change the information in your account
    • If you choose to move forwrd quickly, use your personal information, you can change it to a business late.

      • Buyer-seller contact metrics
        • Response under 24 hours (should be > 90%)

    I did a one day sale for the product I was selling. When the specific time ended, I could not change back to the original price. All my units just kept going for the discounted price. It did not stop until all the items were gone. So my profit margin was very low.

    Even when I contacted Amazon about the problem, I did not get a good response. The competition can be fierce. Those selling the same products want to see the cheaper prices go fast so that they can sell theirs at a higher price.

    That is why private label is a good idea and you explained this very well.

    I am trying. The biggest problem for me to identify good products to sell. After identifying the profitable products, it take time and efforts to identify manufacturer to produce the private labeled products. Quality control of the product is also tough to do.
