1Hello Welcome Everyone!

Adding Value For Your Videos, Closed Caption to Increase Comprehension Ah Lah Nurse Becca. I will qualify to speak because I have been researching this for months for WA and literally years since 1990s, for 2 of my daughters who have hearing loss

So here is a Wealthy Affiliate Continuing Education from my heart.

2You will be surprised how easy Closed Captioning can actually be. I put together this brief presentation on how to make CC easily within your videos.

Let's get started.

Closed Captions are written words of the video recordings. This clarifies what the speaker says in the video.

Surprisingly, more than 80 percent of Closed Caption Consumers do not have a hearing loss. Yet there are over a million people worldwide you can reach with learning how to create CC option on your video.

3This is the reason we should want to learn how to build closed caption on videos, it adds value for your video. Ensure your script does not appear over other important visuals of your video.

4The French Chef was the first closed caption over the past forty years the videos have expanded because laws and movements to open education and making learning accessible for all regardless of hearing status.

5In medical care the CC is an outlawed abbreviation, the Golden Standard for documenting Cubic Centimeter is the Milliliter ML because that abbreviation has been removed from best practice due to the propensity of errors. In marketing CC stands for a great thing! Closed Captions are good for SEO and opening additional audiences

Consider the potential for future law requirements, and the evolving Closed Caption requirements for education arena. Quality standards are lobbied for in Canada and America but I haven't read the law in other countries. The Americans with Disabilities Act has continued to enhance offerings for the purpose of open education

6Even for You Tube, you can open a google doc and type in transcripts, then upload them rather than correcting preformatted responses. The accuracy of the prefilled closed captions have improved consistently BUT they are still referred to as CRAPtions by members of the Deaf Community. After this, you will ensure the timing matches your words as you're saying them. Keep in mind for videos that are showing the steps on software, this can be difficult to follow without captions.

7Many may complain this is tedious and difficult as well as annoying for people because the words are distracting or get in the way. It is more difficult for the whole of people who are deaf each of them have the struggle where if you put in little effort it can be of benefit to a cool million people

8Let's Look at the ZOOM EXAMPLE the main operator assigns the closed caption to a member of the group, then each member can activate and resize the font to the size they prefer.

9I made my first hybrid Closed Captioning with a combination of Google Docs and Screen Cast O Matic. The Google Docs was not translating quite as well when I noticed you can upload. In researching this topic, the next time I tried, I actually uploaded the transcript and this way seems to be more foolproof for several reasons. There is definitely a learning curve, but this will save you time and money to do it this way. Also, you will already have a copy saved for a future ebook draft

Resources: these are the resources I recommend to get more information on how to closed caption.

Be sure to visit the help menu for different types of software to get the details if you wish to try out several options for making your own closed captions for video. You can try out Fiverr or Upwork to look for delegating this task. Or there are companies which specialize in curated closed captions for a fee. The going rate is about 60 dollars per hour and has a day or two turnaround. Now I will just Google through this for you to look at how to process the closed caption simple and easy plus quality work for more content you can revise to fit specific audiences.

Thank you for watching, and I hope this training finds you well. Have a great holiday celebration of Canada and America this week. We are independent neighbors, really great to have a big party every year.

Please like / comment /share and try out putting the captions through Jay's SEO task sheet checklist!

There are a handful you can choose from, you can try out the software CC or even use the YouTube by Uploading a Google Doc and assigning to the correct talking frames. The auto writing software is more accurate on YouTube than it used to be. It does not do the best with accents so more corrections are needed. The benefit of having a document of the script is an easy to rewrite for different things like Twitter post, Facebook Ads, Pinterest pin to a blog post or whatever fancy that. The initial work is really worth it and helps people without hearing or a sleeping baby requires silent learning. You are most welcome of course.
Sincerely,
From my heart 💝

Very timely as I am reviewing software options for my first Youtube video. It would not have occurred to me to use closed captioning so this was a great lesson for me. Thank you again, Nurse Becca.

You are quite welcome of course, thank you for visiting my little presentation. I messed it up a little but I already recorded multiple times so I had to keep it. I might try to redo it but this was a lot of work for me 😅

Nurse Becca, tsk, tsk, way past your bedtime. It is past my bedtime. Folks, please use this training. Do it for me, please. I am Deaf and I depend on this. I will need to figure out how to do ASL sign then do "closed caption" really its called "open caption" for hearing people. This training will help me also. Thanks for this. I'm saving this also. Outsourcing not good idea. Costly. Better do it yourself. I think it is worth it. But the resource is available. Just so people know. When they place their YouTube video out, it takes 24 hours for the captions to work. I think that's an auto setting. But if want it done right away, best to do it in another video editing software that is shown in this video. Also for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the Deaf community, lipreading is only understood between 20 to 30 percent, closed captioning provides 100 percent accessibility. My dictation speech to text paid software can only pick up a few and its not 100 percent perfect. I will blog about it and show some funny things that speech to text did. It is hilarious.

You are quite welcome of course. Adding Value to Videos can pay it forward and pay off for those who work at it. This is a skill, but no more difficult than creating a website. An it may take relearning as this evolves. Laws and tech are always changing.
Thank you for watching and sending me a reply!
Sincerely,
Nurse Becca
