In some cases it is wise to add an Affiliate Disclosure Statement.

Here are the official FTC guidelines.

Here is an example and a way how to do that.

Loes you are really creative. This is especially good training because you speak so honestly. You open my mind that things can be made how you want them to look. Thank you so much.

When would you recommend putting a disclosure and when is it not necessary?

I surely would recommend it when you promote health and food products

This doesn't turn people away? "Oh she's making money, of course her recommendation is biased"

I have a plugin that generates an affiliate disclosure that someone suggested when I was getting started. But it seems better to just do it like this to avoid an extra plugin. What do you think?

To much plugins is not good, you better save that place for another plugin :)

I opted for a plugin to create mine but I am not concerned about "plug health".

Why would you use a plugin for the use of a discloser?
Reply

Because it creates a professional looking legal disclosure statement. Much like the privacy policy that most of us copy, paste and edit.

When I was first starting up my site, another member said by law you had to disclose such information and suggested the plugin. I didn't know much at the time and didn't think about it again until I saw this tutorial of yours.
I see now it isn't needed. Always learning! :)
