What is SEO and How Does it Relate To Google Algorithm?
SEO is the practice of optimizing your website, so it can be better noticed on Google search results.
The goal of every online marketer is to get their website to appear at the top of Google search results. In marketing tongue, it means achieving Number One, Page One on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).
And this is a difficult task if the main keyword for your business is very popular. You will have to do a lot of work in order for your website to move higher.
Then think about all the effort and resources that have to be deployed to get to the first spot on page one.
Google is the de facto librarian of the internet who keeps organizing and reorganizing the world's contents. And to do this very well, Google has an algorithm that measures the PageRank for every web page it crawls.
The algorithm assigns a score (PageRank) to all pages, and it is this score that is used in organizing web pages when search queries are made.
There are lots of metrics that Google algorithm uses for determining the PageRank for all web pages. Although we don't know all the metrics used, there are some of these metrics that are known to the public.
And so SEO involves the use of certain techniques for organizing your website according to these metrics.
