Not until we start getting unknown seeds from China.

The Chinese are not collecting data from Americans for fun.

True but they already know everything they want to know about us.

From strange seeds to Chinese hackers accessing your private information including bank accounts. It is happening. How the heck did the Chinese Communist know where to mail the seeds? TikTok is dead.

Joe, are you also concerned that the US government knows all the details about you (if you are using a smartphone)? How come Chinese government knowing your information would be worse?

I totally understand privacy issues and even have a qualification in GDPR, so I know how the UK government use data, but if the Chinese know all about you, what is the big deal. No matter how powerful China is, or becomes, they still have to trade with the rest of the world, so there is little they will do with your name and address. I fully accept concern and interest, but in my little bubble I don't see any reason to be overly anxious about it!
They already have 1,439,323,776 records of its own people to look after, so I think that it has enough personal data to play with, without being interested in mine.

Big difference. A Communist Chinese Party spying on a person and a democratic government checking on you. By the way, did you see the news that the US is BANNING Tiktok from the US?

WHY do you think that is?

But it is your choice and preference. Don't let anyone stop you.

I think it is more to do with US government than the Chinese.

Wow Roope,

You're idea certainly is intriguing to say the least.

Is there a format that we are forced to use on TikTok?

All of the TikTok videos that I have seen appear to have been made on a cell phone and the video is taller than it is wide... which, is odd but okay.

In Google searching for the acceptable formats, I saw several different sizes quoted, such as:
1.) 720 x 1280 px,
2.) 640 x 640 px, and
3.) 1280 x 720 px
and that MP4, MPEG, MOV, or AVI files are best, using between 5 and 16 seconds. That the video file size should be less than 500 MB.

But... none of this information came from TikTok.

Shouldn't a 16 second video be a LOT less than 500 MB?
