However, the best things in life are free.

Are they really free? Everything is an exchange of some shape or form.

You made me think s air we breath free? Is the love of the parents free? What about the rain, the sun... They are free, aren't they?

Hi, Megawinner.

Paul Mindra here from Canada.

Greetings.

"The best things in life are free..."

Here in Canada, we pay a Carbon Tax on the air that we breathe.

I remember a while back that people somewhere in South America were not allowed to collect rainwater when they were dying of thirst, and as you might know, the collection of rainwater in most of the United States is Regulated.

What the sun is giving us for free we will not accept unless it too can be passed further down the chain in the form of a charge.

Even the 'free love' that parents are to provide their children has become convoluted to mean 'Conditional' and 'unconditional.'

Thank you for your thought.

Kindest regards,

Paul.

OK, here is my opinion-we pay for oxygen from the air with the life that goes through us. Our cells are pulled by gravity and aged from the moment we take our first breath.
Love from our parents is not free because we grieve when it's not around and long for it for as long as we live.
The rain and the Sun are simply part of Nature that keeps us alive while we breathe. We pay for life with breathing and we pay for love with loving back.

Even that for parents. And from God have to be paid with certain obedience but it is up to you actually. He and they will love you as who you are whatever you are. It is your action that will pay the price not them. Thank you too for your perspective.

In addition, you are not paying for the air. Because "Carbon taxes put a direct price on emissions. Generally, this means that greenhouse gas emitters—usually fuel producers and distributors—pay a designated amount per each tonne of carbon dioxide emitted from burning carbon-based fuels. In order to motivate emitters to decrease emissions, the price usually goes up slowly over time so households and industries have time to adjust and adopt less carbon-heavy practices." https://www.chatelaine.com/living/politics/federal-carbon-tax-canada/
