The SEO world is constantly evolving and you can’t afford to get left behind. To get in the good books of search engines like Google, you need to keep up with the trends. So, whether you’re a blog or website owner who looks to optimize for better SEO, this is for you.

SEO is simply the practice of optimizing your site to improve organic traffic. This implies that you’re improving the traffic that gets to your website or blog through search engines.

Although learning the ropes of SEO can be difficult because of the constant changes, there’s a number of practices you can adopt to improve your SEO. But first let’s see how SEO works.

How SEO Works

Search engines like Google have a mechanism that determines what content shows in search results. This mechanism involves the use of algorithms to display these results based on the specified keywords.

Now, it’s only logical that those results on the first page will get more traffic than the results on subsequent pages. This is because the first page is more likely to have what searchers are looking for. Hence, no need to go further to open subsequent search pages!

The overall objective is to get your site to rank on the first page. Numerous search engines may abound. But what becomes the fate of your website when some of these search engines don’t even have traffic themselves?

So, it’s advisable to target your site’s ranking efforts at search engines like Google, Bing, and YouTube. Below are common SEO mistakes you need to run away from today:

Thank you for this training. I am still working on my use of long-tail words :)
So if I understand correctly, if I use Achor text in my posts, that will positively affect my SEO ranking? Thank you for your reply.

Thanks a mill, Israel. Im pretty sure I've made every one of these mistakes.

I've found my SEO technique has improved enormously since the All-in-One SEO update, which has prompted me to take greater care to include meta descriptions, SEO titles and internal links.

I also picked up some fabulous tips on a Premium Plus course by Tim McKinlay. I made a number of tweaks to my sites and have been inserting internal links to related posts and I'm seeing a nice boost in traffic. Interested to see where this leads.
