I want to use allhealthypets.com for a domain name. My website will provide information to dog and cat owners. For example, my first post was on healthy and affordable dog food
Even if you're only going to be talking about Cats and Dogs i think the domain name is good. The bulk of pet owners will be looking for Cats and Dogs anyways so shouldn't be an issue. Also gives you room to expand to other pets eventually.

Well, I went ahead and bought it! I like the idea of being able to talk about other pets eventually.
As long as you write good content and stay consistent there should be no problem. This also gives you the opportunity to have more niches or subniches.
Jerry
Thank you. That's what I'm thinking of doing, have more niches or subniches. I appreciate your help.
That might be okay, BUT people might be looking for info on other pets like snakes, etc with all in there. As far as ranking the domain name plays a very small percentage of ranking points. It used to be greater %, but Google now uses more AI stuff in deciding what your site is about, and I suppose they realize that many dot coms are bought as an investment.
Your proposed domain name does however, leave the door open for possible future expansion into other pets.
Hope it helps, good luck to you!
That’s kind of the idea. I want to be able to put information on there about other pets. I just needed know if what I want to do for a domain name would work. Thank you for your help.
You're welcome, but don't wait. People see things and get ideas. Someone once said, "You can't steal second base if you keep one foot on first." In other words Do it now.
Good luck and blessings to you!
I just wanted to let you know, I just purchased that domain. Thank you for helping me. I know it’s silly, but I’m excited!
All the best,
Tracy

Thank you, Howard. That’s a good one. It’s broad enough. I don’t want to go too specific. I’m surprised I didn’t think of that one. Duh!
Hi, I am in the pet field as well. Here is a post I wrote last year about choosing a niche and domain name. Generalization vs specialization in choosing a niche and domain name. Jessica

I am writing my keyword rich content page. My niche is healthy dogs. Through Jaaxy, I got the keyword “best healthy dog food brands”. The QSR is 18 and the AVG sear
Great keyword Tracy.
As others have mentioned we are looking for QSR under 100 and the lower the better.
Especially when starting out, I recommend writing towards keywords with a very low QSR even if it doesn't have many searches.
It might not bring in much traffic but you'll at least get ranked well in Google search which will help in the future when you target keywords with a higher QSR and more searches.

That should get you on page one quickly if you do all the other steps when writing your post.
Hi Tracy. That sounds like a good one to me. Ideally, the QSR should be under 100 but I think you can go for it.
