My job is a dementia carer and i have to put up with a lot at the moment the change in my client is so very clear over the last week.

Monday my client was asked tohave a change of clothes which were on his bed he would not change or shower so he sat down and sulked for a few hours in fact he went back to bed.

Next day he was very aggressive towards family and myself almost pushing me down the stairs he couldnt do this so i just left him he didnt calm down so i had to wait till he came back down stairs to the livingroom, easy pickings i had prepared his lunch so he ate his lunch and then i had brought some donuts which he loved funny how a bad mood turns so very quickly.

At least i am alive

You do very well Tracey. My mum has dementia and be very difficult at times. Fortunately, we lived together for 16 years so I have been able to help the nurses to understand her.
Some days are pretty bad.

Please remind yourself that their moods have nothing to do with you. It's just the condition. This too shall pass.

Be happy. You are appreciated.

Thank you Carmen

It is a great job to work with people but sometimes very hard.

Tracey

Dementia is a terrible disorder. My dad luckily only had it a few months before his passing but it and Altzheimers are just plain horrible. I can't imagine slowly losing my mind, even though I am bipolar and have already lost part of it as they say I can't imagine losing the parts that make me who I am.

Hi
I am so sorry for your loss and yes any sort of dementia is very disheartening not just for the loss but for the family as you lose the person twice.
It is very hard living with bipolar i am so sorry that you have to live with this as well.
Tracey

Yeah, Bipolar sucks but not as much as letting it define you. People tend to bottle it up over stigma. I keep more good moods by being vocal about it and championing using the positives in your life to reclaim what you lose. I have just about beaten social anxiety and am climbing out of the depression because of blogging. It's my art therapy for sure.

I have quite a few friends back home in Bournemouth who have bipolar and i have seen both sides or almost all the sides so i know how hard it is for you.
I am so sorry you have to go through this terrible thing i never look at people and judge i ask questions and talk which is the best thing for everyone.
If you ever need to chat just let me know.
Tracey
