My WA Journey 2019 - Brief Encounter With A Fellow Member

This may seem like a strange post for some in WA, but I thought I'd post it anyway because it's my journey and some may be able to glean some encouragement and inspiration from it.

Below is an image of a comment I received on my profile recently and what follows is my heartfelt response.

My Heartfelt Response

Glad you asked!

From the start I did things wrong because I wanted to get the most out of my 7 days free trial and so I did both the Getting Started (Passion Niche Website) and Affiliate Bootcamp (Affiliate Marketing Website).

I had so much information going through my head, I had serious overload and having tried the training and created my website, I was distracted by other shiny objects and ways to make money online.

For 2 years I didn't give WA the time and recognition I deserved to give it in order to succeed. I then started again and I became quite successful in WA and started earning from creating training and I
actually reached rank 5 and was an Ambassador for a while.

At this point in time I learnt the passion of helping others by paying it forward - this is the modus
operandi of WA and Kyle and Carson's continued passion to help and assist others to the best of their ability rubbed off onto me and I started helping others regularly.

At this point in time I chose to help speakers of others languages within WA who didn't have English as their mother tongue, so that they could better understand WA and have people translate for them. I created a website overnight to assist these people and you can see the link on my profile. But someone tried to bring me to a standstill, but Kyle came to my rescue. I was really disappointed that that line of helping others just came to a crashing end and so it took a while before I took up the reigns again.

If there is one thing you learn first about the training at WA, it's to do 1 and ONLY 1 of the courses
of training. I tried to do too many all at once and that's why I got stuck at the point you mentioned.
I didn't see the big picture and I kept banging my head against the same wall, very painful and a lot of time lost. However, not without learning. I have learnt an amazing amount through WA and I continue to create training.

Circumstances in my life have set me back a few times with the training at WA, as well as deaths in the family and close friends. It's hard to focus during these times, and it makes it harder to get back into the swing of things when you try to come back and make a genuine better restart.

My websites are up and running and most are indexed, but because I am not putting content on them regularly, they are not ranking. I have learnt a lot about the significance and utmost importance of quality content that grabs the audience's attention.

Because Getting Started Online Certification is a whole different scenario as you are creating a website around your passion, it is a whole different ball game to Affiliate Marketing which uses affiliations to get commissions.

I didn't totally understand this in the beginning so I totally mixed up the two and was not able to follow
through on the training.

This year, I am endeavouring to get this right as I restart the training again.

Thank you for inspiring such a lengthy explaination, it may come in handy for someone else who may stop by and read it!

There! You've unintentionally helped someone else by paying it forward!

Isn't this community amazing! :-)

Thanks for sharing this blog, I read each word on it, huge inspiration.

Thank you for affording the time to read my blog word for word Alejandre. That's a great encouragement and I'm grateful that you were hugely inspired by it!

Well, Edu, you have covered several thoughts that seem to run true for many WA folks.

Rushing down the road thinking that the faster you go, the quicker you get there - as it seems to be with many who join Wealthy Affiliates - is not really the best approach to success.

The original thinking is, "Get through the lessons as fast as possible so money can be made as fast as possible."

But, as you have found out (just as I have), this leads to, "The hurrier we are, the behinder we get."

So, slowing down and letting the great WA training sink in - taking it one baby step at a time - instead of taking leaps and bounds - is a much more thorough approach - leading to a much more concrete foundation for our websites to be placed upon.

Patience is a virtue that is not often realized to be the best approach.

In addition, you are to be commended on a great niche site that helps those folks who are not native English speakers.

It can be amazingly difficult to be successful on an English speaking platform - writing unique and creative English text in websites - when you grow up speaking a different language.

And, I am awe inspired by anyone who is able to break through the "English as a second language" barrier.

Luckily, English is my first language. But, a number of my friends and relatives are natives of other lands - where languages other than English are spoken.

I'm sure that they will flock to your English Help at WA website and it will be tremendously successful!

What a great post, and very similar to my own story of getting distracted by shiny object syndrome. I've wasted so much of my time here and when I think of what I could be earning now I could kick myself.
A timely reminder to get focused. You've helped me too - whether intentionally or not!
Cheers
Rich 😃

We all help each other in ways we hadn't even thought of, that is the beauty of paying it forward. Just being ourself and answering questions we know we have the answers for is also paying it forward.
Absolutely agree with time wasted.... if only we had just followed the training step by step one at a time, not skipped, hopped and jumped at every other blog post that popped up.... we would be a lot further...
But the main thing is to focus now and persevere with the right steps and tasks to perform at hand.
Regards
Edu

An amazing community, indeed!

I can relate to your journey and I love that you are paying it forward with this post. I'm trying to get it right, too. I procrastinate too often and I'm trying to overcome that. It's partly a lack of self-confidence but I'm getting better.

The thing is, I'm learning new things every day, here. I'll never leave WA. It's my happy place, most of the time!

You are so right.
Overcoming is the greatest success of all to moving forward.
We will always learn new things as WA is an ever-evolving platform of pleasant and helpful surprises!
:-)
