How To Download A Video From Other Websites NOT YouTube?

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to keep the video you watched online instead of having to stream it from the internet every time you want to refer back to it, especially if it's a training video?

Well, there are many ways and means how to download a video from other websites, but what do you do when that solution doesn't work anymore because of the evolution of information technology and that it evolves?

This is a genuine question and your input would be much appreciated as I have to pay everytime I watch a training video that I cannot download. Each time the video uses up a lot of data from the internet and where I live we have to pay for all data used from the internet, so it gets VERY expensive and if I'm going to succeed in my training at Wealthy Affiliate, I need a solution.

If you know of any viable, workable solution that does not require using data viewing the video each and everytime I view the video referring back to it time and time again, I would really like to hear from you and your input would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Hi TopAchiever, I know exactly what you mean. There are times when I want to download a video tutorial, or a video that I didn't want to loose track of. You know how sometimes videos are removed from the public, then you're out of luck if that info was valuable to you. This has happened to me a few times.

It's not often that I want to download a video, but when I do want to, I want the ability to do so. I limit the downloads of videos, because they can be enormous files.

I use a combination of browsers, for different reasons, but I mostly use Firefox. One reason is that Chrome disallows downloading videos form the internet. This may have changed since the last time I tried, but in Firefox Browser, I use a free extension called Video DownloadHelper. It allows me to do just what you want too do. I've always used it for YouTube videos, but just a few minutes ago, I tested on a Vimeo video, just to let you know if it can be done. Yes, I was successful in downloading a short video from Vimeo.

There was an older video download Firefox extension that I used to use. It was easier than 'Video DownloadHelper', but the developer stopped updating it and it wasn't compatible with the newer versions of Firefox.

Good luck!

Thanks Mark! I'll try that and see if it works for the videos I need.
Much appreciated.
