What are the Pros and Cons of installing the Amazon Associates Link Builder WordPress Plugin?

Is it beneficial and will it in fact boost your affiliate income or will Google penalize you for links?

For all those using the plugin, your expertise on this would be greatly appreciated as I've tried for 3 years to make the Amazon Associates program work for me and still I cannot get 3 successful purchases to remain an affiliate! Each time I have to then apply and try again.

Your expert advice and tips and help are much needed at this time!

Thanking you kindly in advance!

Regards

Edu

Thanks a lot for sharing!

Hi Edu,

It can be frustrating at times but we mustn't give up.

Keep on ploughing.

Best regards,
Norleila

Thanks for sharing, Edu.

Aweful indeed, stay away, besides the bugs and the regular blocks, nothing but frustration. Bad experience.

I prefer other platforms. 20 years wIth them has not earned me one single dime...

Thanks Fleeky! 20 years is a long time - so your feedback gets my vote! Thank you so much!

Awesome for customers but absolutely execrable for affiliates and producers... will soon hit them in the face. Arrogance of the big ones

There are other and better alternatives.

Hi Edu, this particular plugin works with API so you cannot use it unless you are an approved affiliate with Amazon. Most of these tools work with API. Those that do not, are usually useless.

Will Google penalize you? Nobody can tell you this but I do not think so. Here is an example so judge yourself.

I was checking ranking of a post (list type) with many items in the list and short descriptions and then link to my full reviews, several thousand words. There was no affiliate link of any type there. Guess what, I realized that it was outranked by a beginner's site's post with only one single paragraph (repeated in other posts), and with a long list of items generated with Content Egg plugin, full of typos etc.

So forget Google penalties, this is a myth.

With such plugins you add one single line of code in the post and this generates a complete list of items with pictures prices, discounts etc, , and this is done in a couple of minutes. You have more and more Amazon affiliate sites now of that type.

Back to your issue, I wonder why you cannot have sales. How many posts you have and how much traffic? Think about numbers and statistics. Roughly speaking, assuming that people come to your site, 10% will click on links and go to Amazon, then 10% of those will buy. So out of 100 visitors you might expect one to buy.

You are always an encouragement Jovo! :-)

Thank you for your most valuable input.

Yes, I'm not sure if I'm trying too early to be an Amazon Affiliate?

Regards

Edu

Hi Jovo
I have to agree with Edu, your insights always gives me answers to questions I didn't even know to ask yet! Thank you, Jovo!

You are always so kind to me Sharlee. I missed to say above, the mentioned post generated by plugin that outranked me was also a featured post in Google. The descriptions of individual items in its list were all taken from Amazon, a complete list of duplicates. Then I am asking myself what the heck am I doing all the time by writing long reviews.

Check your links Edu, something is strange there, you said 3 years. Do you see any clicks in Amazon statistics? If not, then links do not work.

Hi Jovo

What I say is sincere and well deserved, Jovo! ;-) [wink] Sometime you'll have to face that he's a smarter guy than you thought! ;-) (The one staring back from your mirror that is.) LOL!

WOW - what you describe almost sounds like a fable - how could that have gone past Uncle Google's watchful eye, one would want to ask? Yes, I know the feeling Jovo - but just give it time until the next Google slap! It is guys like those who necessitate the Google updates and who in the end will loose their business.

Wishing you an awesome day, Jovo!

I have experienced this too. A post using EasyAzon with zero text, 10 items, came up at #3.
Meanwhile I write 3000 word posts and then all my ads disappear over night. No clue.

I have been experimenting meanwhile with one site built in the same manner as those mentioned above, texts generated by a plugin. It was earning money after 2 weeks only.

Hi Jovo

> after 2 weeks only.
WOW !! Please keep us informed as to how that goes over the next few months. I am particularly interested in seeing how that site performs after a few Google updates (slaps).

I appreciate the info that you share and that I can learn from you - thank you Jovo!

Wishing you an awesome day!

I'm happy for you - but that sucks lol, if you know what I mean. Anyway, EasyAzon support doesn't know why their plug in isn't working. I think I will try the Amazon Linkbuilder plug in.
Thanks for your input.

When I asked them 2 years ago they replied that they never heard about such an absurd situation (that links simply vanish). So I decided to remove it from my sites.

I haven't used the plugin, but its poor rating of 2.5 from more than 80 votes speaks enough to me....I prefer AAWP, it's amazing.

Can you say how you use it? Do you use Bestsellers option, if yes, does it generate sales? I just installed it in one new site as an experiment, with just a few paragraphs of text and then the list created by the plugin.

I would like to know how that turned out. I am having a hard time with EasyAzon links disappearing from my posts.

I just replied below in another thread. It works great.

I removed EasyAzon from my sites long ago, for the same reason. Links would just vanish. This is a rubbish tool, get rid of it. Use OneLink instead, or just focus on the US market. My experience is that all other Amazon stores are useless, 7 of them together generate less than 1/10 of income of the US store alone.

I also find that no amazon image will show on my sites. Native ads don't show at all. I can get the text link from SiteStripe but no images. Oh well.

This might also be due to a slow connection. Try also to flush dns. I have never had any issue with links directly to Amazon, and with Native Ads. Try also from another browser.

Hi Jovo! Normally, I create comparison tables with it as well as product boxes. Yes, they convert! I really like the final result - products are neatly displayed.

Now another Amazon plugin is largely promoted - Amalinks Pro. It's really cool and it doesn't use shortcodes as compared to AAWP but in my opinion it is far too expensive.

Thank you Asen, just watched their video. It is expensive as you rightly say.

Occam's Razor, right?
I installed Chrome, used google as the search engine and Voila! Both on Windows and Ubuntu, it works for Sitestripe images.
But no Easy Azon ads. I think I'll give up on those. Waste of time.
Cheers.
