Restarting after birth of my son!

Today my son is 2 months and 8days old. I went away from this site to have him and learn how to be a new momma and now I am ready to come back with a vengence and make this work. I find that I hate having to rely solely on my fiance for all financial things that I want to persue. I hate having to ask to buy things(to be fair, he has told me that it's alright, and no pressure from him for me to ask, that is just who I am as a person) that I want or that we need because technically it's not my money.

The website that I had started when I first got on here was geared toward people with high blood pressure. This was something that I knew about as my Father had it before hepassed away in 2017. I find that as I am coming back, I don't have that much interest in doing that topic so much anymore as my main page. I want to focus more on being a momma and having a baby, specifically a baby with a heart defect.

Many people have already told me to not start more than one page until I get on up and running and it is making money. This helps keep me in line and lets me do the process all the way through before I start another. This for the most part makes sense to me, but I also believe that you have to have passion for what you write about otherwise it will not be as good.

To this end, I have decided to start a whole new page about baby stuff. I know it is an extremely competative market, and hope to find my niche for who to target. Perhaps kids who have the same heart defect as my son? That could be difficult as his condition is about 1:10,000; but possibly. Every baby will need certain things like diapers and wipes, clothes and strollers. I will have to spend the weekend thinking and prepping for my new page. Maybe do some peliminary ground work.

Plan for this weekend:

  1. Decide on new niche that is baby-centric
  2. Go back and follow training for new page
  3. Write a couple of posts for safe keeping to maintain continuous posting
  4. (Possibly) write a post for HBP page

HI Angela, I am so happy for you on the birth of your son, I can understand how you feel about being independent and also want to change your niche,

I remember Kyle answering a question about having two sites and he advised to have only 1 site until it is established and then start the other,

So think about this move carefully before you decide.
wishing you all the best.

I did think about it long and hard, and yes I remember Kyle discussing this exact thing. I love the other topic as it is near and dear to my heart, but my interest and focus now is on my son, and for what I can foresee in the future.

I would rather start a new site fresh in a topic I am interested in and want to learn about and, in a way, and being forced to learn about than a topic that has very much taken a back seat.

Thank you though for your insight and input :)

What a little cutie! :) He's lucky to have a mama who works so hard for him!

Hi!

I did the same exact thing, I started this journey working on a site about pest control and found that I had very little interest in the subject, but now I have completely started a new page about being a new momma and having a baby and I already have 35 posts up in 3 months! I think it's great to pursue something you really have an interest in. Good luck! you're gonna do awesome!

That is awesome! Thank you so much for the support :) I weighed on this decision long and hard, and just don't feel the pleasure I had before with my old site. I will still work on it, but for right now I will focus all of my attention on the baby one.
